Project Dagger is a retro FPS roguelike, where you have to return a lost artifact to the King of Delvia! However, your journey will not be easy and many foes and enemies along the way will attempt to kill you as you travel through the world. Unlock new weapons, upgrade stats, and battle a variety of enemies in a plethora of environments on your quest to return the Crown of Benevolence!
This is an Early Access game and will constantly evolve with planned features such as seeded runs, bosses, and much more content. Stay tuned.
What is Project Dagger?
Project Dagger is a retro FPS roguelike, where you have to return a lost artifact to the King of Delvia! - Play through a variety of environments and different times of day against a wide variety of enemies. Each time you go on your quest to return the Crown of Benevolence, your path will be completely different!
- 15+ different melee and ranged weapons including quirky and unusual ones to add to your arsenal, each weapon will have it's own utility and fun factor to make annihilating everything in your path satisfying.
- 15+ different enemies, whether it's a skeleton running into you with a TNT barrel, a one eyed flying demon shooting lasers at you, or just a zombie whose out for your blood there will be a ton of variety.
- 8 different unlockable classes that add their own utility and make gameplay even more exciting.
- Normal and Hard difficulties for those who want something easier or something a bit more challenging
- One shot gamemode where you and enemies alike have only 1 health point.

Would love to play and rate this game but I can't play it on SteamDeck. Trying to map the controls but I can't get certain things to work. Is SteamDeck support coming?2 found this helpful

You know your game is good when the game automatically sets you at 0% mouse sensitivity so you can't look around using the mouse until you go into the settings and fix it yourself. I did three runs of this game, one got to the final area, two didn't make it past the first world. The enemies have no variety throughout, new items you obtain never seem to change the difficulty of your run, there are no icons on the map so you have no idea where you are in relation to everything else, the worlds look uninteresting with very little in terms of visual variety (capped off with an annoyingly low draw distance in the first couple worlds), all other unlockable characters have ridiculously long and annoying unlock criteria, and I honestly could go on. I know this game is very early in development at the present moment, but I feel like this game still came out a bit too early. There's not much content in the game that makes it stand out, and the content it does have isn't very interesting, so you're not left with much.1 found this helpful

this is a sick first-person dungeon crawling roguelite with some particularly fantastic pixel art, and fun combat. haven't played it in a mite, I'll definitely make some time for it sometime and see how it's developed since.
Just a lot of design choices and mistakes that make the game unfun.
