Gnomes
The gnome tribe is one of the most zealous tribes in the world. Gnome gods build shrines and cast prayers to maximize the devotion they can spend on their particular flavour of chaos.

Lizards
The lizards are a tricky bunch... Drivers racing for these gods need to be on their toes to anticipate surprise traps and wily tricks. An industrious tribe, lizard gods place pressure plates and scouts to automate the activation of their traps. They also have an affinity for generally messing with the drivers, taking away agency through smokescreens and tricks like reversing the cars controls.

Plants
This tribe of sentient plants comprised primarily of mushroom men is terribly misunderstood. One of the most benevolent pantheons in RaceTrap, they devote their energy into cultivation. Gods of this tribe tend to cultivate a fruitful harvest of cards from their deck. Unfortunately, despite their best intentions of beautifying the track, the items they grow tend to harm the drivers more than help.

Insects
The insect tribe is one of the most sinister tribes in the land. Drivers unfortunate enough to race against the insect gods should prepare for a harrowing experience. The gods of this tribe like to play with their food. They tend to pin the cars in place with webs, honey or worst of all, giant overwhelming swarms.

"RaceTrap" is a badly made "I can't believe it's not a mobile app" low poly racer that seems to be headed straight for development hell. It's unfinished, clunky, and looks bad due to the lazy, phoned in "art" that makes this look like a reject from 1993. The game's abilities are married to cards, because when we think cart racing, we think trading cards. Oh no wait, we don't. The terrible design conception was certainly a contributing factor to this game failing before it even left Early Access. No wonder the developers haven't updated this in months. I don't blame them, if I was responsible for a game this badly conceived I'd be walking away quickly with my head down, too. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this don't understand that. This isn't really free as the developers fully intended to infest this with mobile app store like microtransactions/toxic cash shop garbage. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this. Even though this…3 found this helpful
RaceTrap is an experimental multiplayer racing game developed by GnomeFire Labs Inc. and published by ViewSano Inc. that attempts to expand the traditional racing formula by introducing asymmetrical gameplay roles and strategic trap mechanics. Rather than focusing solely on speed, vehicle handling, and track mastery, the game transforms races into chaotic competitions where the environment itself becomes a weapon. The result is a hybrid experience that blends arcade racing with tactical sabotage, encouraging players to think not only about how fast they can drive but also how they can manipulate the track to disrupt their opponents. The concept of the game revolves around two distinct player roles that coexist during each race. Some participants control vehicles and compete as traditional racers attempting to finish laps around a track while avoiding obstacles and maintaining speed. At the same time, other players take on the role of “trappers,” powerful overseers who influence the race by placing hazards and manipulating the environment. This dual-role system creates a dynamic battlefield where the drivers must navigate both the track and the unpredictable actions of the trappers…1 found this helpful
The developer of RaceTrap probably abandoned this game because the game never started the race after I chose to join an AI opponent as there was no other player online. There was always a message which displayed "waiting for all players to be ready" in all game types. However, I was ready. The IA opponent was NEVER ready!
Game is in the asymmetric VR category but doesn't have this added yet.
Had a lot of fun with my friend snoopy daddy, very nice
I had the pleasure of testing this game in Alpha, the team really took on a lot of the advice that was given and have done a ton of great work to make this game as charming as it is. Fun with friends, and I can see the team adding and improving more as the Early access continues.
