It's right there in the name. In this game you progress exclusively through gacha. No trade ups, no individual purchase options for upgrades, it won't even let you choose the color of your automobile, it's all decided by the RNGesus. While this unorthodox idea may sound funny, its only worth a few laughs when the game persistently carries the same joke for an eternity. So is this a decent racing game excluding the RNG factor. uh, no. The driving experience is pitiful. Within 0.5 seconds of you hitting the gas your car will be at its peak performance, at 6th gear with max RPM. In spite of the inflated tachometer number attempting to bring some sense of speed into the dull gameplay cars still feel slow as ♥♥♥♥. It's like you're always stuck in second gear- I'll be thinking of Gotcha Racing 2nd whenever I hear that verse from now. Having max RPM at 95% of race also means that depends on the car you're driving, the highpitched struggling sound of the motor can be very unbearable for your ears. For this reason I recommend keeping your volume low. They could've easily made this into the top down Gran Turismo with a little bit of extra effort, but for some godforsaken reason, wha…1 found this helpful
Gotcha Racing 2nd is a retro-inspired arcade racer that combines simple top-down driving mechanics with an unexpectedly addictive customization and progression system centered around randomized vehicle parts. Developed by Arc System Works, the game takes a creative approach to arcade racing by blending fast-paced competition with gacha-style collection mechanics, allowing players to continuously improve and redesign their vehicles throughout the campaign. Although the visuals and overall presentation appear fairly simple at first glance, the gameplay loop gradually becomes surprisingly engaging thanks to its strong focus on upgrades, experimentation, and long-term progression. The core structure revolves around earning currency through races and using those rewards to obtain randomized vehicle parts from a capsule-machine style system. Engines, tires, chassis components, special abilities, and cosmetic upgrades can all be collected and combined to create stronger and more specialized vehicles. Every race contributes to progression, making even small victories feel rewarding because they bring players closer to unlocking better equipment. This constant cycle of racing, collecting, …1 found this helpful
Fun and simple racing games. I got it on sale for $2. Customization is a rabbit hole! Worth it!1 found this helpful
It's even game runs great on steam deck. Highly recommended it is fun. The only thing I'm not sure about is. If there's cloud saves, I have loaded it on two different machines, and it does not seem to carry over. If anybody has an answer to that, that would be great.
very fun, gacha system mixes in well with the wager/payout system for grand prix races. Offers a lot of customizability that interacts in an interesting way with the difficulty scaling.
This game is pretty fun
