About Recon Quest

To complete your objectives you will control one of four custom vehicles. Each vehicle is suited to a specific task so you'll need to be sure to pick the right one. You'll need all the advantages you can get to defeat the enemy vehicles, buildings and bosses that stand in your way.
Vehicles
- Tank
Built to destroy other vehicles, the tank is quick and agile.
Primary Weapon: Anti-vehicle cannon
Secondary Weapon: Projectile shield
- Drone
Incredibly fast, the drone is good at sniffing out those hard to find objectives.
Primary Weapon: Dash
Secondary Weapon: Places teleport beacons for the siege vehicle
- Siege
Ponderously slow and inept at destroying vehicles, the siege vehicle is hell on wheels when it comes to taking down turrets and walls.
Primary Weapon: Teleport to beacon
Secondary Weapon: Deploy to artillery mode
- Builder
Can construct all manner of helpful buildings, such as the mini-tank factory and turrets.
Primary Weapon: Build Building
Secondary Weapon: Place Landmine

"Recon Quest" is another one of those cases where itchio fails the one single job it has, which is to contain and isolate amateur crapware so gamers don't have to see it or put up with it. In this case, itch leaked and failed to contain this 2D retro pixelcrap ripoff of Battle City, a 2D top down tank shooter with no compelling interest as a video game in 2024, that looks more like it was the only game in the bargain bins at a 1991 game shop that nobody shoplifted. What do you do in the game? Control a little pixelcrap tank, take one look at the graphics and gameplay, and uninstall. The game is really simple and unambitious in terms of implementation, more of a tech demo or one of those cases where an amateur developer spends $100 to publish something on Steam Direct to see if it's possible. Yes, obviously it's possible. A proof of concept, tech demo, or something that's less than a little blip on the radar isn't offering anything truly valuable to gamers. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics.
