About Red Glare
Red Glare is a WW2 real-time tactics game where you play agents of the OSS, the precursor to the CIA, combating a secret German expedition in South America. With five well balanced characters and a story campaign playing out across a continent with jungle, desert, and snow maps, this game will revive your old-school memories of real-time tactics.
I am a Solo game developer and a fan of real time tactics genre so i combined all the ideas of old classic and modern games and mixed them with my own ideas to make a perfect real time tactics game.

KEY FEATURES
- Dynamic Day/Night cycles in each map, giving new scenarios in the same missions. Nighttime makes for easier sneaking as enemies’ view cones become shorter except Enemies with flash lights and enemy snipers. Enemies can not see footprints at Night.
- Dynamic weather system, such as rain reducing the noise of guns.
- Tactical Pause Mode, use this mode to plan your moves and use multiple characters to take down multiple enemies at same time.
- In addition to the story campaign, there are five Challenge maps.
- Enemies can detect blood trails left by moving bodies killed by knife or gun shots, so players will have to be creative with takedowns, such as poison syringe and wire kills do not cause enemy to bleed.
- Wide variety of enemies, including Tanks, Dogs, and Snipers.
- Optimized huge maps filled with more than 200 enemies, more than ever seen in a real-time tactics game.
- And many more gameplay details.

A Pakistani man alone with a dream: to make his own Commandos game in his living room. I tried giving the game several chances because I really like this genre, but it's a mess of bugs and craziness.6 found this helpful

Red Glare, developed and published by BT Studios, is a real-time tactics game that deliberately embraces the slower, more methodical design philosophy of classic titles in the genre. Rather than chasing modern accessibility or streamlined mechanics, it leans into a style built around patience, planning, and precise execution. Set within an alternate World War II scenario, the game follows a team of specialized operatives sent deep into enemy territory, where success depends not on brute force, but on careful coordination and stealth. The core of the experience revolves around controlling a small squad of uniquely skilled agents, each designed to fulfill a specific role in the field. One might excel at silent takedowns, another at long-range support, while others bring utility abilities that open up different tactical possibilities. The interplay between these characters is central to the gameplay, as no single operative is capable of handling every situation alone. Players are encouraged to think in terms of combinations—how one action sets up another, and how multiple abilities can be chained together to overcome heavily guarded positions. This creates a layered tactical structur…2 found this helpful
This isn't something to fill the gap of Desperados 3 and their other games. FPS-wise, it's 30-38 FPS no matter what settings. I don't think it's optimized properly.
Resolution bugs! It's annoying to the point that I could not get past the menu. Would love to see some patch for this game, looks promising. But the bugs have not been fixed since 2024.
When this game works properly it is fantastic however I have often found myself fighting the game itself and losing progress because I hadn't saved in a while(which is a well known mistake in any of these type of games). It is not the prettiest graphics wise which was not something I will take against it. Occasionally the enviroment made it difficult to see what was around me or what I was trying to do. There are a few bugs here and there but those weren't gamebreaking and I could usually, most of those were my guys getting stuck which was easily fixed by quicksaving and reloading. If you are a fan of the genre you should grab when its on sale. Once you get used to the occasional yanky and find way to manipulate the AI there is definitly some fun to be had.
