Ria's Hook

Ria's Hook is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one eschews the garbage pixel "art" that goes hand in hand with the thousands of amateur made platformers infesting Steam for some hand drawn art, and it's true anything is better than pixelcrap, but it's still not a winner there. Since the graphics are a fail, that leaves gameplay to try make up the difference, and it doesn't. This Korean made platformer focuses on a hook swing mechanism, and hook swing mechanisms are not what was needed to revive the old, dead, obsolete platformer genre. I'd just like to point out 3D graphics hit mainstream in the late 1990's and 2D graphics never, ever had a comeback, so it's unclear why amateur developers haven't gotten the memo.
