✦ AI summary
Players praise Riddlestone's strong narrative, gorgeous visuals, and well-voiced characters, along with genuinely challenging adventure gameplay and a good length experience. However, some found the atmosphere lacking and were frustrated by a useless mini-map, unclear object interaction feedback, and occasional technical bugs that required reinstalling the game to resolve.
A curse has befallen Riddlestone. The King is ill, the city has turned from virtue to vice, and dark things are afoot. The Queen has requested your presence to try and solve this riddle. (It appears you are a famous detective in this series who deals with the paranormal.) Can you succeed? An exciting plot, fun HO scenes, and challenging minigames await.3 found this helpful
Recommend on sale Pros Coherent, homogeneous story Gorgeous artwork Passable music/sound Well-done voice acting Three difficulty modes (no custom) Lockable toolbar Challenging, complex, intricate adventure play Undemanding but enjoyable hidden object scenes Undemanding but enjoyable mini-puzzles Collectables Bonus chapter Good length Cons Little atmosphere Mini-map was completely useless No indication of when objects are in correct position for possible use Bug: game kept closing when trying to place gear in spotlight; uninstalled, reinstalled and then it worked Final verdict (7/10): enjoyable experience outside of frustrations with mini-map and bug2 found this helpful
I liked this whole series, personally. The basic gameplay had me scratching my head a few times, and not because of illogical choices, but there was a good use of the map locations -- usually a focus on 4 to 5 areas at a time, but still moving around a lot in a good way. The storyline and even acting was decent, and as with the rest of the series, the premise had some unique qualities.2 found this helpful
