About Rival Books of Aster
Four rival books, each a separate translation of a single source that is long since lost to time. All begin with the same phrase: "Take me and hide me, for I am the one true light". Every journey begins with a choice and the time has come for you to make yours.Rival Books of Aster is a strategy card game that features over 140 hand illustrated spells that you can use to build custom decks and go head to head against other players. Each spell is also a page in a living story book that translates itself and reveals its secrets as you play the game.
Rival Books of Aster does NOT contain randomized booster packs. Play for free with a starter deck of your choice, and expand your collection with DLC packs containing known-quantities of cards.

This got pulled from the app stores, at some point, from my understanding, but this P2W garbage lingers on Steam with a handful of fake reviews and disgusting monetisation. Yes, this does look a lot like a ripoff of MtG or Hearthstone, but it's not. Also, it's unplayable, there's no players, this a dead mobile cash grab scam. There's only a superficial game here. The game visuals and the game itself are incredibly shallow... think of them as the cabinet dress theme on a poker machine at the casino. That's basically what this is. So really, the mobile app "game" is just a veneer, a thin skin wrapped around a nasty, predatory mobile app cash shop. I had the game bug out on me about an hour in. Fairly mathy, lots of familiar concepts from Hearthstone with a positional element. Music and Graphics and U.I. give the game it's own flavor and vibe.
I think it's amazing but there are simply no players. The lore and 'context' of the game is fantastic and i really wanted to know more but i was playing the ai over and over and my one issue is the game is not super sleek, games are a bit sluggish and unwieldy, so playing the ai over and over starts feeling like walking through mud.
