About Saimin Gakushū: Secret Desire

When the lovely Tsukino, student council president and the academy's star pupil, confronts serial slacker Soichi about his embarrassing grades, tempers flare and a very public argument ensues. In the heat of the moment, Tsukino slaps Soichi across the face, much to his humiliation.

At first, Soichi resolves to study harder if only to prove Tsukino wrong, but reality soon kicks in when he realizes he is unwilling to give up his lazy lifestyle. Looking to lifehack his way out of any actual effort, he purchases a "hypnology device" on a whim from an online shopping site.

Although skeptical at first, Soichi is surprised to learn that the device has a much more potent hypnotic effect than he could ever have imagined. Naturally, our hero scraps his original plans at once, instead devising a new plan to use the machine—with campus queen Tsukino as his first target.

FEATURES

 • A visual novel
 • Three branching heroine routes
 • Full Japanese voice acting by seasoned professionals

CHARACTER

Tsukino Himemiya
A second-year at the prestigious Mitsuki Academy, Tsukino Himemiya is a cool beauty who has complete confidence in her both her looks and her brains. As the daughter of the school's formidable chairwoman, she struggles to escape her mother's shadow, and avoid bringing shame to the family name. To this end, she works very hard to excel, and this leaves her with little feeling but spite for our slacker protagonist.
Suzuka Himemiya
Tsukino Himemiya's mother and the chairman of the academy that the protagonist attends. Very strict, and very prideful; as an authority in the field of education, she makes frequent appearances on television. She tears her enemies down with cold facts and hard logic.
Natsuki Fujii
Attending Mitsuki Academy as a first-year, Natsuki Fujii is a classmate of the protagonist. She greatly admires the student council president Tsukino Himemiya. The protagonist, on the other hand, she despises and mocks relentlessly for his habit of bringing down their whole class's averages. It's when Tsukino hears of this that our story begins...
Ayako Sasakawa
The head teacher of the protagonist's class, and one of the youngest female teachers at Mitsuki Academy, Ayako Sasaka is nonetheless as respected and feared as any of the more established educators. She has little sympathy for the protagonist, with whom her lectures tend to fall on deaf ears.

Saimin Gakushū: Secret Desire is a school-set visual novel that leans into provocative themes while remaining firmly rooted in the conventions of choice-driven narrative design. Developed by Dark One! and published internationally by Shiravune, the game frames its story around a deeply flawed protagonist whose desperation becomes the catalyst for a series of morally questionable decisions. Rather than presenting a traditional coming-of-age or redemption arc, it explores how power, insecurity, and temptation intersect when an ordinary student is handed an extraordinary—and dangerous—tool. The story follows Soichi Akano, an academically hopeless and socially marginalized student who has long resigned himself to failure. His life takes a sharp turn after a humiliating encounter with the school’s strict student council president, Tsukino Himemiya, which crystallizes his sense of inferiority. Seeking an effortless solution, he purchases a dubious “sleep-learning” device online, only to discover that its true function goes far beyond studying. What begins as a misguided attempt to improve his grades quickly transforms into an exploration of control, desire, and consequence, as Soichi ch…
PROS:

4 stunning models. The art style really stands out, especially considering the game’s age. The designs feel polished and visually appealing throughout.
Some genuinely great scenes, with expressive animations and well done ahegao.
The voice acting is high quality and adds a lot of immersion to the experience. Top tier!
Multiple endings.
Decent story.
Gallery feature.

CONS:

Requires an additional patch to access certain scenes.
Noticeable lag and optimization issues. At times the game can feel unresponsive with significant delays.
Some scenes feel weaker or less polished.
Heavy amount of text, combined with occasional awkward or poorly translated dialogue.

OVERALL:
Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, the character models and overall art style are impressive even by today’s standards, and the voice acting is genuinely TOP TIER. On the other hand, the experience is held back by technical issues, inconsistent scene quality, and some rough translation work. It’s not a bad game by any means, but it’s also not fla…

When you're too lazy to study, but not too lazy to build a harem :D Great CG and voice acting, maybe a bit too much dialogue about “unko,” but at least they don't show it on screen, i hope they translate Saimin Seishidou -Secret Lesson- too
