Sands

[h3]Illogical story[/h3] This is not a game it's not even a story. It's just a mess with no actual aim and no game mechanics. Spoilers follow [list] [*]At one point you leave the track to escape the sandstorm, by the wind anemometers on the light-posts are not only turning the wrong way, they just don't change speed with the wind speed. [*]Then it hits you, as just now, a sandstorm pulled through here and nothing actually moved the sand does not settle and create dunes that cover the rail how does that work? [*]A water pump appears in the distance, and it's just got the exact right amount of water to fill your bottle? And it just squirts the water exactly at the right point to fill it as well, wow, magic? [*]Then it later occurs to you, despite the sandstorms, the fabric covering at the water point, it's still there, intact, how on... Just a few of the immersion breakers than make this not a game and not a story. And then of course it's about as exciting in gameplay as watching paint dry. I'm not sure how anyone had the patience to complete the puzzle that follows. I certainly did not want to waste more time.

As long as you don't mind long stretches of running through sand... I couldn't deal with the 30 minutes of running back and forth to locations and the cart in the beginning. I'd say it gets better but I just got too bored. The graphics are good and the story is interesting. Just a bad start if you ask me.

[h1] The Sands Have No Pity [/h1] Sands is a cute, and fast walking sim. It simply introduces you to the premise of the planet, and doesn't over stay its welcome. I would love to seem more about this little world, maybe even different perspectives. Overall, if you enjoy quick and easy walking sims that feel like a nature documentary, then this is the game for you!

Thirty Minutes. Thirty minutes to find out this is a walkless walking sim and just...boring. Little to do and it takes forever to get anywhere. I just gave up.
