Shamania is one of those games that constantly hints at being something great, but never actually gets there. The premise is interesting, the world has some charm, and the early hours make you think you're building toward a deep settlement management and survival experience. Unfortunately, the deeper you get, the more you realize how many of the core systems feel unfinished. The NPCs you hire are a perfect example. They gather resources, but that's about where their usefulness ends. They don't intelligently help manage your settlement, they don't store what they collect, and they require far more babysitting than they should. Instead of feeling like you've built a thriving village, it feels like you've hired a handful of lifeless robots that perform one task and then stand around waiting for more instructions. That lack of polish extends throughout the entire game. Basic quality-of-life features that should support the core gameplay loop are either missing or underdeveloped. Inventory management becomes tedious, logistics are unnecessarily manual, and progression never reaches the point where your settlement feels increasingly self-sufficient. Very cozy game, some combat, but it's very cute and fun. Bought it as soon as it came out and no regrets, haven't touched it much recently as it did get a little boring but that's just my taste as other games came out but it's def fun! Would highly recommend- it's cute, cozy, whimsical, with a side of combat so it isn't just a survival game.

Decent little game for the $$$. Nothing ground breaking but does have co-op. It would be nice if your character was usable on different friends worlds. You will have multiple toons if you co-op but overall I like the game.
