Shrineflow

The game idea is really good. I feel like a small game of tag with some friends who have special abilities is really cool but the graphics were very buggy and did not render very well. Also I would recommend the ability to change the key bindings and a back button when selecting your abilities. Other than that this game can be really fun and interesting it just needs some more work.

Super fun to play once you figure out how to hide well.

It's amazing what some college kids can put together, especially that grass. My only complaint is that it takes a stellar computer to run this. If your computer doesn't run it then you can turn down the resolution in Steam or on your computer as it has no graphics options.

I was excited to play this game, but I wasn't even able to play a full round. There was too much lag and when I used one of my abilities my character disappeared from view until I quit. It's a really fun idea to have a game like this, but it isn't playable at this time. I was also annoyed that I couldn't change any of the key bindings.

This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] "Shrineflow" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from the mormons at the BYU Center for Animation in Utah. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The game in its current state is unplayable. Motion Blur should be illegal and not having a volume slider is terrible. Finished one game and lost my hearing.
