Simulators, strategies and pigeons

"Simulators, strategies and pigeons" is a collection of unpolished and clunky "indie" minigames dumped on Steam as a showcase/portfolio project. There's not a lot of value in any of these, simple little toys that are roughly on par with 10 year old browser/Flash games. What do you do in the game? There's six minigames, a newspaper sim, breeding magical flowers, pigeon delivery minigam, stick naming (huh), a Russian e-book (I guess that explains all the fake Russian reviews)... it's all bad. This comes across as something unambitious and "simple" in terms of implementation and technical quality and depth, more like a game dev tutorial or an experiment. It's a classic case of a developer prioritizing the low effort needed to get a game listed on Steam over the actual delivery of a technically sound or compelling product. Whatever is needed to hammer out something "good" enough for Steam Direct self-publishing. The graphics aren't great, simple game-jam tier minimum viable product stuff. Simulators, strategies and pigeons is a really unusual collection because instead of giving me one full game, it gives me six small games that all take the idea of simulation in completely different directions. I was not sure what to expect going in, but I actually enjoyed the variety. One moment I am flying around as a medieval carrier pigeon, then I am editing a ridiculous newspaper, growing magical flowers or wandering through a forest looking for sticks. It feels more like opening a box of strange little experiments than playing a normal simulator. Carrier Pigeon Simulator was probably the one that grabbed me first. I have to deliver letters between villages, avoid obstacles and collect golden eggs while trying to help bring peace to the island. The flying and navigation give it a nice arcade feel, while the time management and quests stop it from being nothing more than flying from one point to another. It is a silly idea, but I think it works surprisingly well for such a small game. Unbelievable Times is probably the strangest of the bunch. This is free, but it's still worthwhile. There are 6 games here, most of which are amusing and fun to play around with. Nothing life changing, but the carrier pigeon simulator is pretty neat.

not sure why so many vastly different games are bundled together but i loved each and every one. the pigeon game was super fun, the stick game was pretty cool, and the dark toned one (I forgot the name) was absolutly an astonishing story. all of these games are hidden gems and i highly reccomend atleast playing each of the games in this launcher
