About Skyland 1976

Summary

You are Simon Hopper who tries to find his sister Alice, mysteriously disappeared in the great forest of Grayson in October 15, 1976. Near the forest, a government facility called Skyland has been built in the 1950s to prepare for the Cold War. Since the abduction, you suspect members of Skyland to be responsible for Alice’s disappearance but you are lacking of evidence. You made the choice to devote your life to the search of the truth and for over fifteen years, you tried to find your sister. In vain.

Until today, October 15th, 1991…

Skyland 1976 is a narrative first person survival-horror game. In this title, you will have to retrieve documents and items to solve puzzles and to understand the story. You will have to survive and fight hunger, thirst, your insanity and increasingly more powerful enemies with limited resources.

A few words From the Developer

My name is Simon CLAVEL, I’m a software engineer and a video game developer during my spare time. I am a survival-horror game lover and I had the opportunity to enjoy a whole range of those incredible games, from the most classic games to the most independent ones. I got the idea to develop my own survival-horror based on my experience.

After several months of development, I can present you my first title, Skyland 1976 strongly focused on the story, survival and puzzles solving. This game should keep you in suspense for about eight hours and more for the beginners.

Glhf !

I bought this survival horror game for just a few dollars and it's a very nice one! The game is focus on a captivating story and an oppressive athmosphere. The gameplay is classic with a flashlight system, some stats to mind (sanity, health, stamina and battery), some jumpscares and a lot of puzzles solving (Maybe too much). Sounds and graphics are really nice but It's a shame that some parts of the UI look really cheap (I talk about the inventory and some HUD effects). The game runs smooth on my RTX 2060 and I don't noticed a lot of bugs, just sometimes with the AI system. The game don't take very long time to finish (~ 7 hours) but it's ok for the price. I can recommand it for the interesting story and the frightening athmosphere.

It's not a AAA survival-horror game, but it's definitely enjoyable. The puzzles are amazing, and the atmosphere is really tense. I haven’t finished it yet, but the main plot (though pretty classic) is something I really enjoy.

So dark...chase and hide...die...chase and hide...die...chase and hide...die... 6 of 5 must play. 5 of 5 great story great game-play. 4 of 5 great story average game-play. 3 of 5 average story great game-play. 2 of 5 play only if it's your favourite genre. 1 of 5 play if you have nothing better to do. 0 of 5 play if you're a masochist. -1 of 5 avoid. Skyland 1976 score is 0 of 5.

Feels terribly mediocre. You can tell the dev gave a ♥♥♥♥ about his product and all but it just feels like a project that felt includes a bunch of gameplay features without setting itself apart from being an experience worth recommending. Also an inventory system with an unnecessary number of survival bars needing to keep tabs on to ensure you don't expire prematurely (food, health, sanity, flashlight battery). I could understand the health, flashlight battery okay fine but really? Did we need the other two to have numerous consumables laying around to fill up the larger than needed dull maps with something to collect.

So far I'm massively amazed that this usually costs £10. I'll possibly play it further. For now, don't bother.
