Supermarket Tycoon is, well, barely qualifying as a tycoon game. It's an abandoned early access train wreck that looks more like someone's homework project (they failed the course, and in fact was held back a year after they submitted this for their assignment). It's really so bad, and not just because of the crap technical implementation (more on that later). The fundamental game design here is terrible... you have to manually click on each stock item you buy then click where to put it... it's a joke, it's so lazily put together. Trying to play this game seriously may cause mental harm, so please be careful. That's how bad this shovelware is. The game was abandoned roughly 2 months after launch and hasn't been updated in over 5 years. It blew past the developers commitment to complete the game without any notification or admission of failure from the developer. The game will never be completed. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The…3 found this helpful
Supermarket Tycoon is a retail management simulator developed and published by Nicholas Rizzo that invites players to build a thriving supermarket from a humble beginning. Centered on the familiar tycoon formula of earning profits, expanding facilities, and making smart business decisions, the game focuses on the satisfaction of watching a small grocery store evolve into a bustling shopping destination. While its presentation is relatively simple, the core concept captures the rewarding progression that has made business simulation games popular among fans of the genre. The experience begins with limited capital, encouraging players to think carefully about every purchase and expansion. Shelving, checkout counters, refrigeration units, and other store fixtures must be positioned efficiently to create an inviting shopping environment while maximizing customer flow. As profits increase, additional departments and product categories become available, allowing the supermarket to grow beyond groceries into areas such as electronics, clothing, automotive products, beverages, and household goods. This steady expansion provides a constant sense of accomplishment as the store gradually tra…1 found this helpful
People Who Left a Bad Review Just Need To Get Good You Know i Installed This and I GOT 777 DRAWS FOR SUPERMARKET TYCOON AND THE LEGENDARY HEROS SUCH AS LUCKY,SCOTT,AND FISHERMEN
Even for 50 cents, it's barely worth it. It's fun for 30 seconds as you try to figure out what you can do, and then immediately boring. However, if you're obsessed with tycoon style games, then it wouldn't hurt to pick it up.
"Supermarket Tycoon is truly a gem in the world of simulation games, offering a captivating and engaging experience that brilliantly replicates the intricacies of managing a supermarket. Its successful combination of strategy, management, and creativity forms a uniquely immersive gaming environment. Right from the get-go, Supermarket Tycoon draws you in with its realistic representation of the retail industry. Each decision carries weight, from designing the layout of your supermarket to the crucial choices about which products to stock. Whether it's placing the fresh produce near the entrance or arranging a sale on household goods, every single decision impacts your supermarket's success, making the game as thrilling as it is strategic. The game showcases impressive attention to detail in terms of graphics and design, providing a realistic yet aesthetically pleasing gaming environment. The aisles are lined with a vast variety of products, from fresh produce and canned goods to electronics and clothing, accurately reflecting a real-life supermarket.
