The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard

This game is really something special but from what ive heard its just better to play on gog, if you did already get it here however and youre as foolish as I am to try and brute force it, heres some tips for bugs I found in my mess of a playthrough with the steam version, Game crashing when pressing esc to save, usually occurs with having too many saves in your file. Go to Redguards game folder>Redguard>SAVEGAME. youll notice the saves are formatted 0xx (xx being whatever number of save youre on) copy the saves to another file if you need to use them later. then delete all of the original saves that you no longer need and keep whatever latest saves you need and rename them starting from 001 so the game can properly count them up again. Game stopping to load a location at 99 percent, starts to happen usually around midgame when reentering areas with a loading screen. To fix this issue youll need to go into your file of savegames and find the earliest save with a file of that location, find the tsg file of the necessary location, the naming systems are usually easy to understand relative to their locations but if you dont understand them consult the uesp wiki for the console at the …

The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard is a difficult game for me to review. It's cons, from its janky movement and atrocious combat, to the constant crashes and issues with files, take a lot away from the experience, However, at times I felt like some of these cons were part of the fun, part of the challenge of the game. Ultimately, that feeling, alongside the pros of a really good story, unique puzzles, decent parkour (despite the movement issues), the voice acting, and the amount of lore this game brings to the wider Elder Scrolls universe, led me to review this positively. I feel specifically, that combat and movement got better and funner as I played through the game and got used to the controls, but I don't think you should play this game if you don't have the patience to get used to the jankiness. I found myself specifically enticed with the sheer amount of lore and interesting stuff that was thrown into such a small game, this is my first time learning anything about Hammerfell and I feel like I already know more about it than most other regions of Tamriel. Really buggy but this is honestly a pretty janky mess of a game that I really enjoyed playing. I don't have many hours on this reveiw but i played it on orignal hardware and reguard is pretty slick.

use a guide, but nice to learn elder scrolls lore. Does crash on occasion though, most times a reinstall will solve most problems.

--Ok Redguard... You will likely need an hour or so to set up this game properly... if you dont want it be super janky... it will then be "mostly janky" and look better as the software version looks like poo... follow the set up helper in the community tab - I forgot who posted it but its at the top... and DEF play the (3dfx version) looks way better the set up needs to be followed carefully to get this to run correctly and you will have to leave Steam and download a few things... - Then as he also suggests set up the mod tool- you can download it MANUALY on Nexus site but it wont been seen in Vortex- so you can add stability - you need MODERN java to run this btw so like JAVA 29 or something should be on oracles site btw) - the only real patch is the stability one that and some silly costume one for some reason... but this stability fix is important --- then I personally use Joy2Key and map my 360 style 8bitdo controller that way.
