The Penguin Factory is a charming puzzle game developed and published by Battenberg Software that transforms a simple premise into an engaging exercise in logic, timing, and observation. Set inside a whimsical industrial facility where penguins are transported through an elaborate network of machinery, the game tasks players with ensuring every penguin reaches its designated delivery box safely. What begins as an amusing concept quickly develops into a satisfying puzzle experience, with conveyor belts, rotating platforms, transport tubes, switches, and other mechanical devices forming increasingly intricate challenges. Rather than relying on flashy visuals or a complicated storyline, the game succeeds by building its identity around thoughtful puzzle design and lighthearted humor. The gameplay revolves around deceptively simple mechanics that gradually reveal surprising depth. Every interactive machine can either be activated, deactivated, or have its direction altered, making the controls remarkably easy to understand while allowing for an impressive variety of puzzle configurations. I bought the game only because it has penguins, I recommend it to everyone.

Just fun. After revisiting this game with a minimum of a 3 year gap, I can confirm that the game is just plain ol' fun. It runs like how it seems it should, no bugs from when I've played, and the graphics aren't half bad. The gameplay is exactly as advertised, and is different enough from level to level to keep you engaged. There are also trading cards, which is my eyes is always a bonus. For $2? I'd recommend this game to just about any of my friends. If nothing else, it's only $2, but I think they'd have fun nonetheless.

The game has 100 really fun and challenging puzzles. Despite there being only two tools and five objects making up each level, they really squeeze the potential out of all of them and achieve depth more than breadth, and very few levels feel like repeats of previous ones. There are a few technical flaws, like inconsistent physics making success RNG-dependent in some levels, or the timer going down while paused, but they hardly drag down the experience. Definitely a bargain at $2. You also can't go wrong with a penguin theme.
