Decent but psychedelic story. Game mechanics are not quite smooth and the gameplay is kinda glitchy. Most of the puzzles are absurd, it's very obvious they haven't thought on the puzzles very much. But I absolutely loved the storyteling mechanism of the game. With the great atmosphere, voicing is really good and that makes you wanna keep on playing, that's why I finished the game in one sitting and so this is enough for me to recommend this game! 👍2 found this helpful
I can't complain about the price .99. I've been playing for about an hour, it's a bit tedious and drawn out. Soon as I made it to the kid's theater I started getting motion sickness. Far is predetermined story lines go, it hasn't been the best. I was hoping for more interaction with objects, and not so much being told what I must interact with and no other option. I originally downloaded the game because I was looking for games similar to Martha Is Dead. As of now I give the game 1 out of 5 stars.1 found this helpful
Obtuse "puzzles" with little direction. I think Sophia was unstable before the events of this game. First clue, *Spoiler Alert* she's still with the guy who tried to drown her in the toilet because he was angry about her pregnancy. Really?! I've struggled through this for nearly 3 hours, but I can't take anymore.1 found this helpful
As far as indie horror games go, this is top notch: Captivating story, unique visuals, with some puzzles to boot. As others have mentioned, the story is very dark - just something to know before you get in. 7 minute silly highlights of Red Sophia: https://youtu.be/9fhTiYFPekY1 found this helpful
Surprisingly good indie-horror walking simulator! It's quite a long game for the price with a dark, voiced narrative. Very linear but also very experimental and original. Solid game that has been buried in the endless Steam indie-horror game library.
Now this was an interesting experience! The Revenge of Sophia Red is a narrative driven psychological horror game with some real fun puzzles. The game tells a harrowing and sad tale of Sophia Red, an author who's life appears to be going well... at first. It has many twists and turns that unfold in an interesting way and is told with such visual flair that it's hard not to get lost in the story. I loved how the words and letters were used to create the shape of people, the way the house itself transformed to fit the narrative was a great way to make the player feel as trapped as Sophia was. Great atmosphere as well! It's hard to talk about the game without spoiling it, so if you like dark, narritive driven games, please give this game a shot.
