There are a lot of positive reviews for this game, though I think this is due to the fact that most folks don't have the heart to put down a free game that was clearly not made with malicious intent to become viral by being purposefully bad or with pay to win mechanics... This however doesn't change the fact that this is, indeed, a bad game, because the movement is sluggish, the mouse sensitivity is off and the mechanics are all over the place ranging from just badly executed to downright annoying. But all of this can be boiled and tracked down to the one fundamental flaw this game has, which is, ironically; that this is a game chock full of features. None of which is properly implemented, and several of which don't have a reason to exist in the first place, such as the knee-high obstacles that the player just "vaults over" automatically, whose mere existence irks me because I can't help but wonder: If my character is just going to basically walk through them the moment I touch one of those, then whats the difference between said so-called obstacles laying in the ground versus them just not existing at all? The answer is, obviously, that there is no difference at all. So why doe…

Through The Tomb is a first person 3D skill/precision platformer where you must negotiate a 3D tomb/dungeon by jumping through various obstacle courses. The game has a fairly full set of platformer mechanisms, from jump/spring pads, wall jumping, wall running, stalactites you can climb, and a "rush forward" surge that propels you forward a bit. The game mechanics and level designs are clearly well planned out. The problem is more in the general quality of the implementation. It's poorly optimised despite the lacklustre low-poly environments and low resolution textures. Gameplay isn't as smooth and comfortable feeling as it should be, so playing the game results in being more frustrated at the low framerates and clunky handling than the platformer challenges. Platformers like this rely 100% on the control handling, look and feel being absolutely perfect, but they aren't here. The game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. Really nice free plattformer which gets challenging quite fast. Also not too short. It's just a bit wonky, sometimes if you do wallrunning, jumping doesn't work.
