Ever play one of those pandemic games where you spend the whole time upgrading a Virus/Bacteria/Etc to conquer and destroy the world? Same concept except with cutesy tattooed girls and gang wars to unite Tokyo. It's not bad, but I don't recommend buying it at full price, you'll feel like you paid too much.

Since there is no "Neutral" recommendation, I will recommend the game with a major caveat: Buy it only when it is on sale for dirt cheap. I got this as part of the Nisa bundle during the Nisa sale, so it was a bit cheaper than $2, and that is about what it is worth imo. There is no strategy except for making sure your honor meter doesnt hit zero (which can happen only if you are absolutely careless and dont even try to do anything). This is the gameplay loop in a nutshell: click on briefcases for money and sirens to remove alert, use the money for tattoos and to lower alert or cease fire in areas, then wait until a boss "fight" occurs, repeat. There isnt a fight so much as a dialogue option that determines honor recovery. My play time is roughly how long it takes to beat a single round on normal. If you are an achievement hunter, be prepared to grind each character 8 times. This is a good "turn your brain off" game in case you need something to help you sleep. Im glad my BDSM game came with a free sleep aid.

Tokyo Tattoo Girls, developed by SUSHI TYPHOON GAMES and published by NIS America, Inc., is one of those titles that immediately earns attention through its premise alone. The game imagines a future where Tokyo has been cut off from the outside world following a devastating event, leaving its twenty-three wards under the control of powerful individuals whose supernatural abilities are linked to intricate tattoos. Combining light strategy mechanics with visual novel storytelling, it presents an experience that feels distinctly Japanese in both style and concept. While it never reaches the complexity of major strategy releases, it embraces its niche identity with confidence and delivers a memorable setting that separates it from countless genre contemporaries. The game's strongest asset is undoubtedly its atmosphere. Every aspect of Tokyo Tattoo Girls is built around the mystique of traditional body art and urban mythology. The heroines are illustrated with considerable detail, and their tattoos are more than cosmetic additions—they serve as manifestations of power and progression throughout the campaign. As players move through Tokyo's districts, they gradually uncover more about t…
