About Torrent Empire
Torrent Empire is a terminal-based, immersive file-sharing site management and hacking simulator. Do you want to create and manage your own torrent site in the early 2000s? In this era when file sharing was just emerging, your goal is to crack newly released software, add them to your torrent site, increase your visitor count as much as possible, and leave a mark in the digital world. Of course, this requires careful planning.
The decisions you make will affect the growth and survival of your torrent site. If you grow too fast and carelessly, authorities might come after you—unless you know how to evade them. If you neglect your users, they might abandon your site. Balancing these two is crucial. As the game progresses, new software is released, technologies change, and you need to adjust your strategy accordingly.

Games are quite popular, but users will also eagerly await applications. And let’s not forget operating systems. Various mini-games await you to crack these. An unsuccessful site manager is quickly noticed—don’t forget that!
Advanced Upgrades
You’ve cracked the software; now you want to upload them to your site to get people to notice you. I assume you don’t expect high internet speeds or 1 TB of storage space in the year 2000. Therefore, as you earn money, you need to upgrade these. Who wants to wait dozens of minutes to upload a software?

Really looked forward to the new Hackmud terminal style game, only to find out the code and stuff that appears on the screen wasn't actually the player coding the attack scripts but instead just random background effects. At the start feels like cookie clicker, constant threats just aim labs grid shot style of aim trainer, click green boxes, nothing to do with the terminal, click crack, click puzzle, click upload, repeat. Disappointed in what it turned out to be. The main part at the start is the mini games which are some simple WASD controlled reaction time or pattern matching game. Not a fan. TLDR: Pretty simple, I expected a much much much more complex and much more fun game. For me at least it's best described as a Terminal Style Cookie Clicker3 found this helpful

I was interested in this game from day one. Sure, in its current state it’s still a bit rough around the edges, but I’d definitely give it a thumbs up. The developer is very active, listens to player feedback, and has been improving the game significantly since release. I’d recommend this game if you’re a fan of idle games and hacking simulators. It’s a different take on the genre, and at this stage it’s only getting better. I’m genuinely excited to see what’s coming next.1 found this helpful
This game is fun in a lot of ways. One user described it as a "Hacking Cookie Clicker" and I think that description fits it well. The main point of the game is to grow your torrent site, with missions to "hack" targets and retrieve files, install backdoors, sabotage files, and so on to make additional money to grow faster. These missions aren't necessarily hard, but the time limit for doing these often makes them nearly impossible to do without already knowing where the files you are looking for are. Each action in the console increases your attention during the hack in a substantial way, so by the time you find what you are looking for, or find all 3 parts of a code to decrypt something, your time limit is up and you fail the mission. This could be made way better by decreasing the amount of attention that navigating through the filesystem gives you. There is also no autocomplete (tab) in the server console for files or directories, which makes navigation and commands more annoying than they need to be. The game may be feature complete but it is still rough on the edge. I admire this solo developer for how they update the game with the comunity feedback. This game is a passion project and the journey only begin.
Really enjoying so far, of course the game has buggy features and some frustrating mechanics but i think it will be solved in the future. Dev is active on discord and communicate/get feedback in there. Give it a try.
