The first game of the Tower series is better done than the second one was; I started with a later game and discovered Tower of God later. Clever mechanics and obstacles. While the purple tiles on dark background are still kind of hard to see, it's better than the second game, which I found particularly eye-straining. There are quite a few minigames interspersed between M3 levels - HOS, slider puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and memory card matching. The HOS is tragically the same scene over and over with just a slightly different list each time, but the other games were a nice diversion. The slider puzzle you get at either level 79 or 96 (it's a bit random when the different slider puzzles appear) I'm convinced is impossible to solve; have tried for several hours in multiple runs through the game. This is a game designed to be played with the bombs you get in the playfield. The powerups on the side are optional for good players. Normally I like to play M3 games sans powerups, but with the way the levels are designed here, it's quite easy to run out of available matches, or else there are so many corners you'd be playing for ages trying to shuffle the tiles around just right. Cool little gems in a row game. Can be a bit repetative. Could have more variation in music. But it looks nice. Sounds fairly good and runs well on Linux. So overall a nice game.3 found this helpful
Fun enough, though it seems sadly very close to their other game Angkor, which was actually more fun. Some of the levels even seem identical, as id much of the sound and the story less engaging. It is a fairly typical match three game. They do have timed when you can only remove a tile with an exact match on that spot, or next to it, and not thru the random drops however, which I like, as it makes the game something which requires a little bit more though. I do feel it falls short of other match three games in some respects, as you do get stars for defeating levels, but can't spend them on anything, a simple but interesting addition many match three games do include. The art is nice though, the 'gems' very attractive, and the mini-puzzles fun, and skippable, a good combination. I picked this up on a good sale, as despite the fact that in many ways I have it already, with slightly different assets, I am going to play thru it again. Who knows, maybe something new will show up later. If not, I really enjoyed the one it is so much like.2 found this helpful
I haven't played for long, but the game is decent, except for the autohint which seems to have some crazy Joker tendencies. It sometimes seems to follow no rhyme or rhythm and is too tenacious to show you a match, even when you're just playing on endless casual. And sometimes the matches are stupid, seemingly always shooting for a 3 match instead of a 4. And the plus, you can't turn it off. This could be a deal breaker for some people. Over than that, the game is fine, runs well and is fun to play. The sounds are kinda boring, but whatever.1 found this helpful
Relaxing and challenging.
I usually don't play match-3 games but the slight story element and climbing a tower along with multiple mini-games like memory card game and puzzle game made this game really interesting...
