Twilight Memoria: Sun and Moon is a nostalgic RPG about growing up in a seemingly quiet village, one that you soon discover is full of secrets. You play as two inseparable childhood friends: Rucifar Demien, the spirited son of a famous adventurer, and Luna Silver, a prodigy in alchemy.Instead of idling away your days, you’ll help villagers, take on requests from the village chief, and uncover the strange mysteries unfolding around you. As Rucifar and Luna’s bond deepens, you’ll begin to explore the unfamiliar feelings of first love, a step into a new world of romance, friendship, and self-discovery.Through heartfelt interactions, meaningful alchemy choices, and a story filled with warmth and wonder, Sun and Moon captures the spirit of childhood adventures, quiet acts of heroism, and the innocence of falling in love for the very first time.

Real-Time Turn-Based Combat

Battle monsters using an Active Time Battle system where every character, including enemies, acts on their own timer. Rucifar fights on the front lines while Luna supports from behind, healing, crafting bombs, and using items mid-battle. You’ll need quick thinking and teamwork to survive, especially since you're just two kids up against dangerous creatures.

Unpredictable Alchemy System

Recreate the joy of mixing wild potions as a kid, throwing in whatever you had and hoping for magic. Craft potions, bombs, and quest items using a flexible ingredient system where recipes only list types, like "Liquid" or "Leaf." It’s up to you whether you choose spring water… or monster blood. Every choice affects the outcome, making experimentation part of the adventure!

Quest-Based Village Life

Help your neighbors and prove your worth by completing requests from the village chief. From gathering materials to investigating strange happenings, each quest deepens your connection to the community.

A Story of Friendship and First Love

Players appreciate the game's custom pixel art, engaging combat system, and heartfelt storytelling centered on character relationships and personal growth, though opinions vary on execution. However, significant complaints include inconsistent art direction between different game elements, poor audio mixing with quiet menu sounds followed by jarring volume spikes, unintuitive crafting mechanics that require adding ingredients before seeing recipes, and repetitive combat that lacks depth despite its potential. The game's narrative, while charming to some, is criticized by others as basic and he

I played this game on stream. I'm honestly surprised that the game doesn't have any negative reviews because there is actually a lot wrong with this game. The game begins with a poor impression by having the menu music and sound effects very, very low in the mix. RPG Maker devs often worry about the mix due to the engine being considered "loud", and so I wonder if the developer has overcompensated for this stigma. However, result is that after you start a new game, a pre-rendered video is played and the volume is jacked way up. During the movie another huge flaw for an RPG game will begin to become apparent - we'll come back to this. Once the pre-rendered video ends, the volume mixing is returned to being quiet...some times. Various sound effects are still at full volume while everything else is quiet. It's one of the worst audio mixes I have heard in a game and it baffles me how this made it past a play test. Now, in the intro a big problem begins to become even more apparent - especially for an RPG: the dialogue. I assume the original developer is a non-native English speaker due to numerous typos and strange grammar. It is nearly consistent throughout the entire game, rarely go…

Twilight Memoria, developed by YSY Softworks in collaboration with Twilight and published by indie.io, is a 2D narrative-driven role-playing game that leans heavily into nostalgia while centering its story on personal growth, friendship, and the emotional turbulence of youth. Built with a classic pixel-art presentation and structured in the tradition of retro Japanese RPGs, the game prioritizes character relationships and atmosphere over sprawling geopolitical conflicts or apocalyptic stakes. Rather than immediately throwing players into a grand war or world-ending prophecy, it begins on a smaller, more intimate scale, grounding its adventure in the daily lives of its young protagonists. The story follows Rucifar Demien and Luna Silver, two childhood friends whose bond forms the emotional core of the experience. Rucifar, energetic and driven by the desire to follow in his father’s adventuring footsteps, contrasts with Luna, a quiet but brilliant alchemist whose intellect and creativity often guide their journey. Early segments of the game revolve around helping villagers, completing small quests, and exploring their peaceful hometown. These modest beginnings allow players to becom…

If I were to say something good about this game, it would be that I appreciate that, for a RPG Maker game, it does have it's own sprites and art, not only just the stock ones. If I were to name something bad about this game: - story is basic and the fact that it censors it's own title cause it would be a "spoiler", the fact that they felt like saying that to me in the first minute, after asking me IF I WANT TO SEE THE INTRO, makes me expect bad writing and not feel curious - the said original art and sprites are not consistent, between the walking pixelated instanced world, background dialogue and character designs and combat background, ground and character design, makes the game feel cheaply put together with mostly stock assets and childish doodles - little to no audio - vendors are not vendoring, just sitting in the middle of the forest, pretty far away from a house, only next to a big rock or campfire, how am I supposed to believe they are selling 10 barrels with just dresses, not even cargo pants, where's the big-10-barrel-pockets at? - combat is "action" in the way that you have to input directional keys and launch them, then block sometimes, feels more like a "we'll make …

not a polished translation, but that adds to the charm; it's got a lot of heart in it and the combat system is fun! the negative review is incorrect about the enemy difficulty, it teaches you how to block and heal and ample usage of these will allow you to beat the tutorial boss. (you continue the game even if you lose at the tutorial boss too, lol)

The combat system is annoying, the crafting is annoying. Crafting is backwards -- instead of selecting what you want to make and adding the necessary ingredients, first you add ingredients and then you see the list of what you could have made. The combat almost would have been interesting, but it's just do the same thing repeatedly but you need to wait until it is available, then do it as soon as it's available.
