I quite liked this game. The subject matter is heavy, but not so much that it makes it hard to play. The cut scenes were pretty good and I assume the voice acting is good, but I couldn't understand it. It ran well too. I really liked this game! There's not much in the way of gameplay here but the story, atmosphere and the world the developer created more than make up for that. The visual aren't insanely good but they are still very very nice and the world of Umbral was crafted amazingly well. The story is the main selling point for this game and it certainly delivers. The subject matter may be a deal breaker for some as it explores suicide and the possible consequences for such an action (at least in the confines of this games world). Yet, if you're not immediately turned off by the subject matter the story is definitely worth experiencing. I really hope the developer makes a sequel to this game because I'm very interested in finding out what happens next and how everything plays out. Give this one a go if you like story driven games and the subject matter isn't an immediate deal breaker for you.

Deep and very interesting. The narrative takes you to experiment the consequences of a suicide. When I was playing I missed some dialogs due bugs. But nothing that took the cool experience that I had while playing the game. The Umbral is a very important game that brings such an important theme and with a lot of potencial. I think you made a great job with such a small team! You don't see it a lot, so I really think we should support this kind of game. I hope the game get another version on the future, with more chapters. :)

Finished this in one sitting. The Umbral is interesting. Many individual moments that chapters start with are artfully noteworthy- visually lovely. The handling of mental illness much less so but it made me laugh in a strange way. The translation is iffy but the voice acting sounds like it's probably good. The little medieval town of the dead is also visually alright. The way Mateus's struggles are conveyed is.. lacking. I think it's just a matter of a story biting off more than it can chew. The hodgepodge of good and bad kept me engaged, not bored in the least. Worth playing but not something I'd recommend lightly- or at all- to anyone with mental health struggles.
