Wake Cup is a great tower defense with clicker mechanics and meta progression. You shoot coffee at workers (aka zombies) to wake them up. Completion takes around 25 hours, it has a speedrun achievement and an achievement to complete the game for the second time on a harder difficulty. Wake Up has most staples of the Tower Defense genre, but uses idle and clicker mechanics to make the playthrough more engaging. The staging also keeps each level short. The meta-progression is nice, but the overall game doesn't scale to a hard enough difficulty and so there isn't much need for planning or optimization. Ideal for a casual player interesting in tower defense style.

This game is a lot of fun. The clicker mechanics in particular ensure that you never get bored, because clicking is essential here to keep your towers working. But don't worry, there are also cute blobs that actively support you and relieve you. The graphics are very cute and the levels are exciting, if you are a Tower Defender fan, you should give it a try :)

LOOKING FOR QUALIFIED BLOBITAS IN OUR ROASTER FACILITY! This game is surprisingly good! A nice twist of clicker idles games on top of classic tower defense genre. Like that's not enough, some upgrade screen sugar is poured between levels. It scratches all my itches all at once. Music is super chill and graphics are cute. But these didn't stop me from rage clicking on roasters!

Overall, Wake Cup is a very serviceable tower defense in a cute aesthetic with tons of progression. The clicker elements are a bit overdone in my opinion (even requiring multiple clicks on the quit button for example), but the little egg buddies you hatch to support the clicking yields interesting moment-to-moment optimization and strategy thoughts while playing. A large overworld gives me the impression that there will be plenty to dive into and the meta-progression affords lots of opportunities to visit older locations that I struggled with.
