Welcome to the Hospital
It's the summer of 1978, and Casey Beaumaris is trying to make the most of her holidays, when her mum asks her to spend a long weekend helping out at the airborne hospital where she works.
Casey prefers the company of books to people, but she agrees, secretly planning to write an article about her visit for the school newspaper.
With her trusty notebook at the ready, Casey arrives on board the airship. The staff are overworked as they prepare for the visit of an important official, while the patients react to grief, or deal with active trauma.
In the midst of these and many other interlocking and overlapping stories, Casey spends time with the patients, learning about their lives, and, as the stories unfold, discovering what she can do to help.

Within the world of Wayward Strand, time passes for everyone - characters continue their lives without waiting for you to interact with them. In Wayward Strand’s unique narrative structure, the stories of over a dozen characters constantly unfold around you in real time, as you, as Casey, roam freely throughout each day.
Choose which story to be a part of by following people, having conversations, and exploring the hospital.
The hospital’s residents are an eclectic cast of characters – some charming, some eccentric, some rude – each with their own desires, goals and imaginations. Every character moves and acts of their own accord, at their own pace, on their own timeline - sharing news with each other, arguing, joking, gossiping - or having a chat with Casey when she comes by.
Every playthrough gives you the opportunity to discover something you didn’t see previously - what you missed the first time, you might see the second, third, or fifth time around.
Your Journey
When you see someone, you can follow them, to see where they go and what they get up to. You can eavesdrop on peoples’ conversations, or come into the room and be a part of the discussion.
Spending time with particular characters will lead you to new storylines, locations, revelations and resolutions.
As the journalist for her school newspaper, Casey keeps track of events and information in her notebook. Players use Casey’s notebook to delve deeper into peoples’ stories, to make new discoveries, and to piece together mysteries.

I really like this game because it takes place over a peaceful long weekend inside a flying hospital. You slowly walk through quiet hallways, visit patients, and spend time listening to their everyday conversations, memories, and personal stories. It’s a very calm and relaxing experience, and it never feels rushed or stressful. What makes it especially interesting is how real the characters feel. Everyone has their own routines and things going on at the same time, so it feels less like a scripted game and more like you’re actually visiting a living place. As time passes, different events happen around the airship, so you can’t see everything in one playthrough. That made me slow down and just choose where I wanted to go and who I wanted to spend time with. I also really enjoyed how much focus there is on small, ordinary moments. You sit with patients, listen to their stories, and slowly get to know them through casual conversations. I never felt like I needed to rush or chase achievements. I just enjoyed being there and taking my time with each interaction. The game also made me think a lot about companionship, especially for older people. A good and unique game about interacting with patients in an airborne hospital. In this game you play as Casey, a 14 year old girl tasked by her mother to spend some time and help with the patients for 3 days. I think there's around 8-10 people that you can interact with, not sure about the number, but some characters only have a limited amount of conversation (like the chef Devin) Control is mostly point and click, with lots of dialogue options to choose from, some of the options have time limits though, but there is no death scenes, just that your dialogue options and who you chose to spend time with will affect the conversation at the end of the game. The Pros: -The game has so many possibilities, each of the patients has their own stories to tell, and you can also know more about a patient by talking with another patient, and some people may be in a different location depending on the time of day, so it's pretty fun getting to stalk them and also knowing their stories. - Game is fully voiced, and the voice acting is great in my opinion! - Lots of various characters on the ship, each with their own quirks/ personality, like Esther who is into mystical things, mr.avery w…4 found this helpful

For the record, works great on Steam Deck. It's like a cozy investigation game, where the whole boat is full of stories and people and what you experience is based entirely on where you choose to be at any given moment, or what plot thread you decide to pick at.
