Where Girls Are Made is a unique story simulation game with role-playing and visual novel elements set in a dystopian future where the world is entirely populated by lustful men and all women are extinct and rather replaced by artificial androids conveniently called "girls".
You take the role of a male protagonist working nightshift in one of the factories that make these android girls. Your job is to make sure that all the android products are perfect and not defective according to the client's orders. As mentioned, this game is somewhat a simulation with bits of reading and visual novel. There are a few sections in the game:The first section is the "Factory", where the player earns money through working. Their goal in this section is to earn as much money as possible before their shift ends. Each action the player performs consumes energy. Once your energy is depleted, you lose the ability to approve or reject android products and risk making errors correctly. Errors reduce your salary at the end of your shift.Once your shift ends, you'll have the opportunity to go home or go to the android market.On the "Market", the player can purchase custom designed androids that they can take home, assuming they have enough money to do so.The "Apartment" is where a significant portion of the game's lewd scenes are. If the player goes home, they can sleep and replenish their energy, and start working again. If the player purchased androids in the market, they will appear in the "bedroom" area where the player can do naughty things with them.

This game is story rich as advertised. I have some critiques on production quality, but they were never a big enough hindrance to dislike the narrative experience of this game. The game's story line is itself a metaphor of the experience of being a citizen of a fascist government. You can avoid and reject the information of your eyes and ears and believe every bit of what the government tells you, or you can go through the healing process of building empathy for others and fighting on their behalf. You can contribute to the problem, and it feels inconsequential because the other men in society are theoretically also. Going to work and never acknowledging the moral deficit it takes to own women as property. If you truly engage with the story as intended, by the end you'll begin to wonder if lusting for a woman is ever morally correct irrelevant of consent. By the time you figure out how to get to the third city, if these questions haven't entered your mind naturally, I think your experience with the narrative will be vastly increased if you consider these three possibilities at once (Kinda not spoilers just un-acknowledged thoughts): 1. The art style is cute and there's a variety of girls, but that's all the positives I can think of for this game. The story progression is incredibly slow, the work to get androids gets tedious quickly, and there's very little incentives to work the new job presented later on. The sex scenes are repetitive and frankly get boring quickly as well. There are many interesting kinks mentioned in the work scenes, but none are seen in the gameplay itself. Why mention so many kinks only to not include them in any sexual scenes? Also I understand having to get the girls in a certain order for the introduction scenes, but there's no good in game explanation for why they need to be bought in that order. I really tried to give this game a chance, but it just doesn't hold up in any way.
