Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/lxbjYSk2GkY Since this is completely FREE currently, it's an easy recommend from me. You get to learn about the history & culture of kite flying in Korea, but more importantly, you get to fly these amazing kites. The controls for flying are fun, easy to learn, and immersive. There's plenty of scenic spots in Korea that you're transported to to fly these kites. Unfortunately, I did find the UI a little difficult to navigate. Also, there was this strange graphical glitch for me where the image in my VR headset was very shakey. That was strange because I was getting a steady 90 fps on my RTX 3080 so I'm not sure what the issue was but it may cause nausea for some (luckily, not for me). Game is running on the Unity Engine. There is no turning at all unfortunately. There are no graphical settings either. You can play comfortably seated ... as long as you have a swivel chair. Wings of The KITE in sky is a free to play VR game about Korean kite flying. Worked on my Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. Maybe try this, if you like flying kites.3 found this helpful
Wings of The KITE in Sky is a charming and immersive VR experience that brings Korea’s traditional kite, Bangpaeyeon, to life. More than just a game, it serves as a cultural showcase, letting players not only learn about the history of kite flying in Korea but also experience the joy of soaring through the skies. The flying mechanics are intuitive and easy to pick up, making it a relaxing and engaging experience. Drifting through beautiful Korean landscapes while controlling a kite feels peaceful and meditative. However, the game does have some technical limitations—there’s no turning function, no graphical settings, and some players have reported occasional graphical glitches that can make the experience shaky. While it runs smoothly on most setups, those sensitive to VR motion may find it a bit disorienting. That said, the game is free, making it an easy recommendation for anyone curious about Korean culture or looking for a unique, laid-back VR experience. If you’ve ever wanted to fly a kite without worrying about tangled strings or bad weather, Wings of The KITE in Sky is worth a try.1 found this helpful
