Simple, fun, affordable.

I buy games of this genre (retro/vaporwave racers) often because I like the aesthetic and then find that ultimately they're not for me. This changed up everything but adding a 3D element - instead of simply moving from side to side, navigating around a fully built space! There's even a
secret area
to find! It's so much less boring and dodging cops replaces having to move around other racers. I do find the cops to be a little TOO good sometimes, if you're in a slower car there's almost no point because they get you so fast, but there are plenty of fast cars that can compete. (My only other complaint is that the filter makes it a bit hard to see, I wish there was a slider to turn it down a bit.) The music is catchy, the visuals are stunning, the announcer is sometimes hilarious, and the game is deceptively addictive. I kept wanting to do just one more run until I had bought all the vehicles! At such a low price this game is a steal, I can't recommend it enough!

OutWave: Retro Chase is a minimalist arcade driving game developed by RetroAirem and Airem, and published by Airem, built around a single, focused idea: the thrill of an endless high-speed chase distilled into a neon-drenched retro package. Rather than emulating modern racing simulations or complex arcade racers, the game deliberately strips the experience down to its essentials, aiming to capture the feeling of old-school score-chasing titles where reflexes, memorization, and momentum matter more than progression trees or narrative framing. The core gameplay loop is immediately understandable and refreshingly uncompromising. You are thrown into a looping cityscape where acceleration is constant and braking is not an option, forcing you to commit fully to every turn and decision. Police cars relentlessly pursue you as you weave through traffic, collect cash pickups, and attempt to survive for as long as possible without crashing. There are no finish lines or traditional races; success is measured purely by endurance, score, and mastery of movement. This design gives the game a tense, almost hypnotic rhythm, where a single mistake can abruptly end an otherwise strong run. One of t…
