✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's educational value for language learning, particularly for practicing natural conversations and repetition through the barista simulation mechanic, and appreciate the timed modes and upgrade systems. However, the game is plagued by significant bugs including customers freezing without dialogue options, missing audio, and character rendering issues, which players find frustrating and game-breaking, with concerns that the developer has effectively abandoned the project despite calling it a "pause."

Interesting idea, poor execution. Got it at full price, to be honest I won't ask for a refund if it's not full of game breaking bugs. I was hoping the game would get better but according to what I saw in discord, the dev have abandoned the game (officially they call it "pause" instead of abandon, but leaving a game full of bugs to sell on steam without a plan of continuous bug fix looks very much like abandon to me) Pros:

put language to use
repetition in a natural scenario
Cons:

Too buggy, have to quit and re-start quite often due to various bugs including customer standing in front of me but the greet options now showing up
quite some underlined words does not come with explanations
Various characters shows as a square (tofu) instead, in Japanese. This is a language learning game for god's sake.
sometimes voice does not play so I have to read the text to get customer order.
Too short, not enough content
putting large cup on the counter results in blocking the tea bags.
basic mouse operation feels unresponsive and inaccurate
in-game achievements does not match steam achievements, a proof of poor production quality
The game is fundamentally broken. The button to say hello to the customers doesn't show up, so they don't give their order, so the game doesn't work. No bug fixes or word from the devs in years. DO NOT BUY!

Only recommended to a limited extent due to frequent error - The game at it's core is great for learning tho! 早上好!请给我一个冰咖啡,大杯的。谢谢 Despite the errors (customers will freeze without dialogue options; restart of session requiered), this game brings great value for learners. I use it for learning Chinese (中文) and buying coffee in a natural sounding way is essential to me. The barista sim is fun, while also repeatedly hearing the voice queues plus training of ability to differentiate quickly between certain dishes and greeting formulas is beneficial for every learner! Software needs a fix! Always the same customers wich are buggy (blonde Karen lol)

Not bad for what it costs, but there seems to a lot of bugs. Sometimes only 1 customer arrives, sometimes none at all and sometimes you cannot greet them at all to begin.

Th idea is great but the game has lots of bugs and it's a little bare-bones at the moment. I would still recommend it because it has potential ! I wish the voices were recorded by native speakers, it could be interesting if they even had different accents!

Update: Originally there was a bug in the tutorial that prevented me from progressing. Since the new patch update, I am very much enjoying the game! THIS GAME IS SO FUN AND EDUCATIONAL! I really enjoy the timed modes and the upgrade system. I cannot wait to play even more as we learn multiple languages along the way! There were a few times the customers did not speak, but it was easy to read the order request. There was another small issue of no customers and simply leaving the cafe and restarting the timed mode refreshes and fixes? it. Overall, def rec this game now that the major bug has been patched! Thank you devs for listening and taking action to fix! 🥰
