*FALCO AXE*, developed by FALCO Software and published by RexTo Studios, is a straightforward fantasy action title that embraces a stripped-down approach to game design. It places the player in the role of a lone warrior tasked with confronting a spreading darkness, a premise that feels intentionally familiar rather than ambitious. The game doesn’t attempt to subvert expectations or deliver a deeply layered narrative; instead, it relies on recognizable genre conventions to frame its action, letting players jump quickly into combat without the need for heavy exposition or complex world-building. The gameplay centers on simple, accessible mechanics that revolve around melee combat using an axe, complemented by occasional ranged attacks. Movement and combat controls are easy to understand almost immediately, making the game approachable even for casual players or those new to action titles. Encounters typically involve waves of enemies that test timing and positioning more than strategic depth. It's an ok beat'em up game. The combat mechanics are not bad, but there's no story or feeling of progression. Feels more like a demo than a full game. But for its price, I give it a 3/5.

A truly awful experience, and one of those games that makes you question your sanity. The only things acceptable about this game are the graphics and the music. The game play is ridiculously bad and repetitive. You can slash with the sword, shoot an arrow and do a power attack that amounts to nothing because it doesn't deal any damage. The only way to kill enemies and deal any real damage is by slashing them with the sword, but even the sword deals hardly any damage. So you will knock enemies over and have to wait for them to stand up so you can knock them over again. Protip: if you decide to play this game, stand diagonal to all the enemies and have them walk toward you. If you are fighting an enemy you can for whatever reason trick the other enemies into standing still while you isolate your target because they are programmed to pause briefly when you initiate an attack, or something. I beat all seven levels and got kicked back to the title screen. Thumbs down.

Great game only requires a keyboard.
