About Market Chain 98

Market Chain 98 is a retro incremental simulation that puts you right back in front of a classic CRT monitor, where you manage growing numbers and make strategic market decisions. Designed with a classic 90s desktop aesthetic, everything happens inside an expanding operating system interface. Your goal? Turn a single small business into a massive global Market Chain.

START SMALL, THINK BIG

Begin by managing a small bodega in Brooklyn. Upgrade your cash register, increase your stock capacity, and clear out customer queues. As your income increases second by second, new windows will open, revealing new markets and turning your desktop into a complex management dashboard.

DEEP INCREMENTAL MECHANICS

This isn't just an idle clicker; it's built on solid math, economy balancing, and strategy:
  • Bank & Loans: Need quick cash to expand? Take out bank loans, but watch your debt limits and interest rates carefully. Aggressive growth can sometimes eat into your profit margins.
  • Logistics & Hubs: Connect your businesses. By establishing logistics Hubs, you gain market discounts, lower your operational costs, and optimize your entire supply chain.
  • IPO & The Portfolio: Once your company reaches its peak, go public (Prestige). Use the permanent points you earn to access your Portfolio, unlocking powerful, permanent upgrades that will make your next market run much faster and more efficient.

Barely a game here. It's neither an idler, nor an incremental. The droplets my dog makes when it wets itself at night while having nightmares, is deeper than the gameplay of this game. Looking at the developer, it seems like they ♥♥♥♥ out a shallow pool of a "game" each month.

Not recommended The game actually starts with a good core concept, but too many mechanics feel poorly thought out or completely half-baked. For an idle game, lasting only 4 hours in total is extremely disappointing. Spending $6 for just a couple of evenings of content didn't feel worth it at all. The pacing is way off: the early game is painfully slow, while the endgame speeds by so fast that you unlock everything in seconds, bringing the game to a sudden halt (and mind you, it took me 4 hours only because I play slowly). The Minesweeper minigame makes no sense balance-wise—you make way more money playing that than actually managing your businesses. Speaking of businesses, there are far too few of them. It would have been nice to customize their names or sectors instead of being stuck with the same two generic companies per continent. The balancing around logistics is just terrible. Expanding your truck fleet is stupidly expensive and can never keep up with warehouse storage anyway, to the point where you're better off completely ignoring it and investing elsewhere. The skill tree is ridiculously tiny and feels like a low-effort addition. Similarly, the shares system is pointl…

TL;DR: It's definitely alright. Takes a bit to really get going, so prep for that, but otherwise it's alright. Definitely an adequate way to waste time (that's a compliment). Also, Clicky got a glow-up. Longer review... Pros: It's an idle incremental. If you've seen one, you've seen em all. This one has a neat aesthetic and has a lot of interactability. Definitely worth a buy & try. Cons: Doesn't seem to have a definitive "end". It just keeps.... going. Don't get me wrong, Musk has nothing on me at this point in terms of personal wealth, but there doesn't seem to be a way to "win" beyond getting all the achievements, upgrades, and trying to see how many billions you have to spend before the logistics system actually works for South America, Europe, and Asia. Upgrade tree is really small, too. Logistics system is a joke until you complete the upgrade tree. The IRS will crawl up your ass like you wish they would to big businesses nowadays. If you hate getting 1000 emails per day, this may not be the game for you as they put that 'feature' in here.

I played for 40 min, fell a sleep. Got 7h a gameplay and now I can't refund. Make your mind about it ... if you are looking for dopamine, forget about it. Not worth the 10$ definitly

新显卡,也更新到了最新驱动,却还提示我需要OpenGL3.3,根本打不开这款游戏! I use a new GPU and updated the driver to the latest version, but the game still warns me that it needs OpenGL3.3, so that I can't open this game at all!
