The One Who Runs Away Is Chased is a free little 2D arcade game built around a very simple idea. We play as a small yellow character who is constantly running away from things trying to catch him. There is not much to explain beyond that, but the simple setup works because the whole game is about reacting quickly and trying to survive for as long as we can. The controls are easy to understand, which I think suits the game really well. I can concentrate on moving the character and avoiding whatever is coming after me instead of learning a complicated control system. The physics also add a bit of unpredictability, so sometimes a situation can go from completely safe to chaotic very quickly. I like the silly presentation too. The little yellow character and the ridiculous idea of basically running away from everything give the game a lighthearted feeling. It does not take itself seriously, and that makes the short bursts of gameplay quite enjoyable when I just want something simple to mess around with.
