Corner King: Boxing Tycoon

First want to say that I was involved in the playtesting of this game and was given the product free by the developer. Also want to say that the developer appears to be a great guy and is very responsive to input and frequently updates. I dont have a great deal of time to write this review today and most of the specifics about the game have already been mentioned so I will just keep this review barebones. I am enjoying this game even after having somewhat played it in the testing phase and getting a general feel for it. So I would recommend it as a management game. What it seems to be missing the most, as most boxing simulations do, is the unpredictable nature of boxing. Once you start a match it is usually very easy to see if you are going to win or lose in the first round or two and thus makes the simulations pretty boring. A real boxing match sometimes has twists and turns, can go back and forth and one punch can change the outcome quickly. It would make the simulation portion of this game more exciting if it was a bit more like this. But as I said, I enjoy it as a management game. And management is a bigger portion of this game than the boxing sim aspect anyway. So great …

addictive gameplay Fun developing fighters and climbing the ranks Could do without the rivalry system, and the interactions with the multiple choice gets old pretty quick to the point where I just click the top choice to get past it so there is a lot of room for improvement but for what it is, it's not a bad simulation. Would be nice to control more aspects of the fight too like different strategies instead of just calming or pumping up the fighters which often backfires. The in ring action leaves much to be desired as well, and could be improved so hopefully we get an update because with a few positive additions and some tweaks this could be a great game

Tons of fun and lots of updates so far,

This game is amazing and with everything it has, I think it will be a fantastic game. The Dev reads and responds quite frequent and that to me is a dying thing in the Gaming industry. The updates have been coming out left and right, with all the bug fixes, new additions, and everything else in between, including some stuff I have suggested. The game has bugs, but nothing extreme or to the point where they last long. As long as you properly report the issue, its nearly always addressed in 1-2 updates. I say if you are into fighting games where all you do is manage your Gym and watch the Ai go at, to try it out. Ive always loved having the AI in sport games play for you, examples like Madden's Coach mode.

Thoroughly enjoying every moment I'm playing this game! Keep in mind it's still in the early stages of development, patience is key! I've come from a background of playing lots of sports simulator games similar to CK, it's a fun little game and I love the style of play. Can't wait to see the future of this game!
