Tales from Candlekeep: Tomb of Annihilation

Played of and on since it came out. If you like the dnd boardgame experience, this does a great job of it. I Would go as far as to say a better job than the acutual boardgames. Very fun if you like the dnd boardgames.

This is a really casual, fun game. I beat it once before and liked it so much I'm playing it again.

Take Final Fantasy Tactics, water it down a little bit, add D&D rules, and this is what you get. All in all, it's not terrible. It can be fun for a couple of hours grinding out tiles, even though some of the early missions don't leave a ton of room for exploration. "Leveling up" isn't quite as rewarding as the usual D&D classics, but this game was apparently more geared toward a TTRPG Board Game, so it's okay.

Recommending / Giving a Positive review, but only if you have played the D&D adventure boardgames and like the Wizkids tile laying games. This digital version nicely brings Tomb of Annihilation boardgame to PC, the animations and graphics have been done very well and it captures the feel of the table top games well. This IS NOT a D&D roleplaying or adventure game its a light tactical strategy game using basic D&D combat elements. In this game you do not create heroes, go through a story with depth and choice and you do not make alignment altering choices. If that's the sort of game you're after you will not like this. The D&D adventure boardgames are typically light dungeon crawlers heavily focused on simple combat with premade characters, dice roles and card draws. Lay a tile, battle some monsters, complete an objective then rinse and repeat. Therefore a lot of the mechanics are quick and easy. The real boardgames this game is based are suitable for families and an audience 9+ and are meant as an introduction to hack and slash dungeon crawlers or act as a light weight get out and play quickly experience. I really like the physical versions of these D&D Adventure Games... and this is a direct port... but there is no UNDO button... or CONFIRM button. You do have the right mouse button to Cancel... but that is not enough. PLEASE update with an UNDO button It is really discouraging to move, then mistakenly move again instead of performing your action. The addition of an UNDO button would really make this game shine.
