About The Matriarch

✦ AI summary

Everyone is a hidden imposter in this 2-8 player hide-and-seek party game where players disguise themselves as farmhand BOTs while one player hunts them down as the deadly Matriarch. Paranoia runs rampant as you mimic work routines, dig for the exit, and read suspicious behavior in others while the Matriarch stalks the convent looking for who doesn't belong.

From 2 to 8 players, The Matriarch is a deadly hide & seek party game where everyone is an imposter. It mixes social guessing with hide-and-seek mechanics and causes Paranoia in all players involved!

Goal: Identify and Sacrifice all the Sinners
Also controlled by a player.
  • Patrol the convent and observe the Nuns
  • Keep track of those with suspicious behavior...
  • ...or be unpredictable and catch them off guard
  • Identify and Sacrifice the Sinners

A cool little game where one player is the Matriarch trying to catch the others, while the rest play as nuns trying to blend in with bots to escape. The art is simple but really nice and kind of refreshing. The downside is that it has zero solo value. You absolutely need a group of friends on voice chat to actually enjoy it (no public matches). Also really needs some new updates! Overall, simple, original and fun. You'll like it if you're already into games like R.E.P.O or Among Us and such.

The Matriarch is a simple but hilarious party game that becomes increasingly chaotic as everyone tries to blend in with the bots. Watching your friends act suspiciously, making accusations, and escaping at the last moment creates plenty of memorable moments. It is best played with a group that enjoys deception and dark humor.

I've loved this game since it's come out. It's very popular with my friend group, and having proximity chat makes it all the more fun. After lots of practice, even just one second off from the other bots can have you ejected from the game, submitting to the wrath of the Matriarch. My only con is that it isn't as popular as it should be. This game is incredible and you can tell a lot of love and effort was put in.
