Fake Colours

Years ago, I ran this for 23 minutes and then let it rot in my game's list apparently. But I found it again, running through it several times to let the cards drop. It's pretty easy pathing for the most part. There's no penalty for getting less than 100% so even if you find yourself scratching you head, all you gotta do is complete a grouping of levels and the achievements pop if you care about that type of thing. I can't really say this game wow'd me but it kept me entertained so it gets a lukewarm thumb's up.

Fake Colours is a deceptively simple puzzle game that starts easy and slowly turns into a genuine brain-melter around level 15, where the real challenge kicks in and you find yourself staring at the board for minutes before that satisfying 'aha' moment hits. The core mechanics — rolling colored cubes across matching tiles to reach goal squares — are easy to grasp but hard to master, especially as the game introduces color switchers, lasers, and vertical elements that layer on the complexity. The ambient music and clean visuals do a good job keeping things calm even when the puzzles are anything but. My main gripes are the unskippable level intro animation (especially painful on restarts) and the lack of an undo button, which forces full resets after a wrong move and kills the flow. Still, if you enjoy tight, thoughtful puzzle design and don't mind a little friction in the interface, this is worth picking up — especially at a discount.
