About CortexGear: AngryDroids

✦ AI summary

CortexGear: AngryDroids is a punishing 3D sci-fi shooter that demands pixel-perfect precision, pattern recognition, and split-second decision-making with zero aim assist or safety nets. Relentless enemies, high-speed movement, and unforgiving combat create a game designed for players who crave genuine mechanical challenge and refuse to compromise.

CortexGear: AngryDroids:

is a high-skill, 3D sci-fi side-scroller built around precision shooting, skill expression and tactical decision-making under pressure. It is a  fast-paced, mouse-and-keyboard-only, This game does not scale itself to the player.
Combat is dense and deliberate. Enemies don’t wait their turn, don’t miss on purpose, and don’t forgive mistakes. They will take the shot when it’s there. Those Angry Droids are on a mission.

Gameplay

  • High-speed movement with constant pressure
  • Encounters built around pattern recognition, creativity,  timing, and execution
  • No aim assist, no comfort systems, no safety rails
  • Designed for PC players who miss uncompromising controls

Beyond combat, the game blends action-adventure elements like hacking systems, mastering the use of tricks and combos  to survive hostile environments. Many quit early.

✦ AI summary

CortexGear: AngryDroids suffers from significant presentation and usability issues that frustrate players from the start, including poor windowed mode options, unclear tutorials with unreliable mechanics like the algebra-based hacking system, and confusing progression that fails to adequately teach players how to play. While the game aims for challenging, skill-based gameplay in the style of demanding action platformers, players feel the execution is severely hampered by poor design choices and feel it is not worth playing in its current state.

Launches in windowed mode with strange size options and no fullscreen one, besides the Unity built-in alt-enter. The biggest issue with this game is that the presentation is an absolute disaster. It feels like one of those "graphic design is my passion" memes come to life. The tutorial was very strange. Whenever it wants you to press a key, it slows down the game in a way that doesn't feel like slow-motion but like it's limiting the frame rate. I couldn't get the "hacking" portion of it to work reliably so I moved on. The level after clicking "alpha simulation" on the main menu made little sense. The hacking has you doing basic algebra but it didn't work half the time? And that's as far as I made it. The game kills itself because it inadequately teaches the player how to play. What I was able to see, though, made it pretty clear the rest of the game wasn't going to be very enjoyable.

CortexGear: AngryDroids is a science-fiction action platformer that unapologetically caters to players who enjoy demanding gameplay and skill-based progression. Developed by JH12world and Jordan Benoit and published by JH12world, the game places players in a futuristic conflict against relentless robotic enemies while emphasizing precision, timing, and mastery over convenience. Rather than following modern trends that prioritize accessibility and constant rewards, the game embraces an old-school philosophy where success depends almost entirely on the player's ability to learn its systems and improve through practice. The game's core experience revolves around side-scrolling combat presented within a 3D environment. Players battle hostile droids across dangerous stages filled with obstacles, environmental hazards, and intense firefights. Movement and shooting require attention and accuracy, as enemies are designed to punish careless play. Every encounter demands quick reactions, and the lack of excessive hand-holding means players must adapt to situations on their own. This creates a gameplay loop that can feel rewarding when challenges are overcome, particularly for those who appr…
