About Unlimited Escape 3 & 4 Double Pack

✦ AI summary

Unlimited Escape 3 & 4 Double Pack puts you in deep space navigating procedurally generated mazes to rescue prisoners while battling ten enemy types and managing dynamic obstacles like floating platforms and movable protective bonuses. The bundle pairs the original space exploration experience with "The Arena," a flat-map variant that strips away labyrinths for pure tactical combat against gravity-affected obstacles and lethal hazards.

Two new versions of Unlimited Escape in one bundle!

Unlimited Escape 3:
Our hero arrives at the beginning of a new adventure, this time immersed in deep space with new unknowns and news!
The protagonist of the game will walk and explore endless mazes procedurally generated and will have a single mission: to save the prisoners scattered in the path leading them to the point of rescue.

New features:

- The setting has been completely renovated.
- Now our hero will walk in space scenarios immersed in the galaxy, with new emotions and feelings!
- This time the random paths have been simplified and ramps are floating in space with the danger that the protagonist and the prisoners fall into the void.
- All this brings new difficulties and emotions!
- The gameplay was changed once again, with new and more fluid guidance system of the prisoners. This system leaves much more freedom of action.
- Now the prisoners are guided taking selected the point of grouping and moving it freely. The coupling distance has been reduced to a more realistic!
- The types of enemies have been doubled: now there are ten types!
- Each type has its behavior and its speed, as well as its resistance to gunfire.
- New types of enemies follow the protagonist even if the Point Group is active! It gets harder!
- Each level has some important news: mobile platforms. These platforms floating in space will give more life and difficult in the paths of our hero.
- The big news of this version of the game are bonuses, created in a unique way! These bonuses are movable objects placed randomly in different levels, can be moved by the protagonist and represent a protection from enemies, who will die in collisions with these items! In this way, the gameplay is more diverse with new hideouts and tactics.
- All these innovations make “Unlimited Escape 3? a game more and more unique, fun and endless !!

Unlimited Escape 4:
“The Arena” is a variant of Unlimited Escape 3 with many new suggestions!
The protagonist of the game will walk and explore endless mazes procedurally generated and will have a single mission: to save the prisoners scattered in the path leading them to the point of rescue.

In a procedurally generated maze, you must guide some prisoners to safety (a blue cube). You can shoot the enemies but you must take care to not shoot the prisoners too. Some pushable blocks can block the enemies or kill them. This is an original little action game. The graphics and the music are correct, not great, but appropriate. The little stylized characters are cute enough. The random generation of mazes gives interesting results, more or less difficult each time. This is quite addictive at the beginning and after that, a game I play for a short session, from time to time. Unlimited Escape 4, included in this pack, has the same gameplay, with a different layout. I played previously Unlimited Escape 2, that has a gameplay a little different. I prefer Unlimited Escape 3-4, where you have a better control over the prisoners. A complete description of the controls: you move the protagonist with mouse-click, press E and you can guide the prisoners (if they are close enough) with the cursor (and the enemies begin to appear in the orange cubes and pursue you), E again to stop the prisoners (and that also stops the generation of new enemies, the existing enem…

https://youtu.be/-Ear7n0mqCk The old phrase 'too much of a good thing' has the darker sibling '"too much of a bad thing'. The third and fourth entry in the 'Unlimited Escape' franchise have no distinguishing features between the two, so the following comments apply to both. Level design by algorithm to create unlimited levels is not a simple task. Much of the random levels provided by this game can be beaten in seconds due to them being too or impossible due to necessary elements being placed off the map or blocked off locations. The camera rotates while moving and swings wildly while using the mouse which makes it difficult to walk in a straight line, a mechanic core to a good game feel. Visually this game is just a collection of cubes bouncing up and down which is no way to go through life.

To put this succinctly - this is a randomly generated puzzle game where they've expected random generation to make for an infinitely replayable game. The base concepts and executions are so poor, however, that it amounts to an infinite void of boring nonsense. Random generation is the main problem here - in that it robs any identity or character the game might've had, and offers the abysmal mechanics nothing to hide behind. Calling this "two" games is only true insofar as there are two executeables, the differences seem to be so insignificant as to explain why they're packaged together. Really, don't bother.
