I cannot recommend for or against this game, standalone it's not an awful game, but it has some huge glaring flaws. The biggest issues we had was that it seems instead of fixing issues he simply releases a very similar game as the next one every few years. It is what it is, it just means I probably won't buy the next one knowing it will be abandoned if it still has some of those glaring flaws.

This game takes a simple, easy, and repetivie genre (HacknSlash or HacknLoot) and adds many new mechanics and features. The result is a very different beast that is complex, frustrating at times, and challenging. But it can also be most rewarding, extremely replayable, and fun. Don't be intimidated though as the game has an array of options and settings that allow you to customize every world you generate. So for new players I would recommend turning off some features until you get a handle on each aspect. It looks and feels like a typical game of the genre, but you will quickly realize, its not. Over 200+ class combinations for start. Procedural world generation that includes area map, biome, many varying specials (dungeons), and enemies that may be easy or may send you running for your life. Most of these games are linear, you always know whats in the area, same enemies, same boss, just follow the path to the next area which you also know is also same just higher level. That is not the case here. Normal game you start with a couple of NPCs part of the clan that can do tasks for the village or go out with you as companions. They will level and equip gear. Not recommended - it seems like a procedurally-generated Diablo clone that feels boring. It is nothing I have not seen before and does not tell the player anything, making it feel like a mediocre mess. A lot of the tacked on systems such as starvation and minion morale do not make the game any fun. You just haphazardly roam around the place until you get bored. The enemies respawn constantly, making all of your efforts seem wasted and pointless. The quests are extremely shoddy. I got an escort mission and the only path towards the goal had a freeze trap that instantly killed the NPC.

Great game, wish their new game was 3D like this one. Infinite replayability is a big thing for me and this game does it very well. Numerous different class and skill combinations for hundreds of hours of gameplay. The world and enemy generation is done right and is always something new thanks to their genius random procedural generation. Really nothing bad about this game other than it tends to crash occasionally on steam deck.

You have a limited space quest log which means I couldn't even accept all within ma base. Then I found some npc and couldn't escort them because the game said to me I have a full quest log space. there's so many pickups which you can't pick up cause you have a low space as in your quest log. Couldn't fiugure out how to sell. game is just one button smash as most "skills" are passive.

Not transparent not meaty not hns at all! Really ♥♥♥♥ this game is. You create some arena and then you just move on. I died first time cuz the game didn't tells you that you need to tell your comrades to have a party and then they magically move out with you. So I died alone then I didn't die but the matter of skills which everyone as I looked up to was passive It just made the game point and click. It's hard to call it hns game.
