[h1]What a Missed Opportunity![/h1] This could have been [i]so good![/i] [b]Mercury Race[/b] does the [b]Mercury[/b] really well, but does the [b]Race[/b] poorly... [h1]MERCURY[/h1] [b]Mercury Race[/b]'s [i]TRON[/i] aesthetic is nearly perfect. Glowing line graphics tickle the inseam of my nostalgia pants. The only thing that would improve the look are flashes of light when things explode. [b]Mercury Race[/b]'s shooting is a delight, [b][i]if you have the Steam Controller[/i][/b]. I imagine the shooting would not be so great using other control methods. For me, I use the thumb stick to steer, and the gryo to aim the target reticule. Any time a (red) enemy is inside the square target reticule, it gets shot automatically. It's great! [h1]RACE[/h1] Here's where things are not so hot. Calling [b]Mercury Race[/b] a racing game requires a liberal definition of the term. First of all is the handling. The craft handling feels like it was written in the early 90s. No sense of weight, physics or drifting. It's just go, turn, and use the brake to turn really fast. Cool racing game! Clean and pleasant graphics and a modern f-zero vibe. A good amount of challenging tracks and an amazing soundtrack. The controls took some time to get confortable with, but work ok after a while. Looking forward to play it with friends!

Mercury Race is a simplistic low poly minimalist console ported arcade racing game with a neon/sci-fi theme. Gameplay consists of driving clunkily around a minimalist track with horrible steering and badly polished handling (it's seriously unpleasant to play even compared to other arcade racing games). You also shoot things by waving your mouse reticle over things, it's not sure what this accomplishes. The technical implementation is on par with the poor game design and lazy lack of polish. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Good combination of driving and shooting mechanics. I like so much the arcade mode.

Challenging arcade. It´s a mix of racing games and shooter games. Recommended.

I wish I could play this game, but it loads to an unusable black screen, at least on Windows 10 x64. At least one other user has this issue. No point in buying it unless they release a new build that gets past this problem.
