As a narrative puzzle game, Kine introduces characters and mechanics through story-driven levels and character dialogues. Starting with the simple drum, then the accordion, and finally the trombone, it slowly layers their unique limb movements until you're coordinating all three. The level design is brilliant because it perfectly controls the state-space, even though it's a 3D multi-character game: By keeping the core logic mostly 2D, using the third dimension for movement or creating platforms, and setting obstacles on a compact level map, the game stays intuitive. I never felt overwhelmed by the 3D space, especially since the characters usually occupy different Z-axis heights. Some of my favorite highlights: Some New Dance Moves and Month One introduce everyday objects like toolboxes and carts. The momentum-based puzzles in The Tunnel of Love and Shall We Dance. The way Euler's movement is restricted after getting "injured". That brilliant fusion of two robots' movement styles in the Finale, A Strange Duet.14 found this helpful
This game has issues launching on certain Intel CPU gens - I read about 10th and 11th gen, but I have a 13th gen and it has the same issue. It launches, runs for about 5 seconds, then stops. By these calculations, I just launched the game 60 times in a row to be able to write this review and tell you not to buy this game. Even if it works for you, the fact that the developer has still not fixed this 5 years after release, after knowing about it as well, and releasing another game since then, tells me this is abandoned and is not a developer I want to support. Shame, as this game looked somewhat interesting to at least try. Avoid.3 found this helpful
Fun, with style, but can be quite difficult.
Fun puzzle game, great music
Cute game full of challenging levels. Many hours of engaging puzzle solving and you can stop and come back at any time.
