Causality (2021)

It took me a while to get around to playing it, but when I did, I ended up with a solid horror game. Nothing too fancy, it keeps you on the edge of your seat, and has some interesting mechanics to spice things up.

Great RPG maker horror game. If you want something that doesn't take too much time, this is the game for you.

A very good horror game. The visuals and art are great and so is the story telling. It really kept me on edge and really liked playing it. The puzzles were fun and engaging and the chase mechanics were fair and fun. A really good horror game overall. A+

As a person who's biggest genre of gaming is RPGMaker games (predominantly horror), I can't sing my praise enough for this gem. While you can (roughly) compare it to the likes of Misao, it has its own charm that lets it stand aside it as one of my favorite RPGMaker Horror pieces I have played, recently for sure, and confidently top 10. the added touch that the final puzzle is randomized to keep you interacting with the finale was a nice change that had me second guessing if I had it right the first time, but kept the replay value lively for myself. Achievement wise, it gives enough where you couldn't keep from playing it at least three times just to collect every one, and I didn't find a time playing it through where I wasn't enjoying myself. I can't sing my praise enough, so PLEASE play this game so you can try and enjoy it as much as I have. 9.5/10

Causality, developed by WAFFLE GAMES and published by PsychoFlux Entertainment, is a 2D survival horror adventure that demonstrates how atmosphere and thoughtful design can outweigh technical scale. And at last we come to not only the last of the PsychoFlux games in my language with achievements, but one I did fully alone again. This game is solid, I may even call it great, but there are some issues I found with it. The game is a bit too long to have a "No Saving" achievement for one thing, it changes the horror and tension to fear of losing progress, which isn't ideal. The game also has some badly translated achievement descriptions, namely the one for escaping the Han-Am ghost without getting attacked, and the one for standing next to a blind enemy for 30 seconds. Both of those are misleading in one way or another. The former needs you to preform a very specific action, and that action is not conveyed at all in the English description. Similarly, they don't actually mean to stand next to a blind spirit for thirty seconds, they mean stay in the ROOM with one for that long. I also don't think it really makes sense that you have to get seen to get the no hit achievements, when enemies like the Spider are designed around NOT being seen. It's counter intuitive.
