About Room 817: Director's Cut

Welcome to the Room 817 at 6 Lane Street, the scariest place in the United States. Rumors say that Evil himself resides there. Residents throughout the neighborhood consider this creepy apartment to be cursed, but fear always attracts adventurers, and secrets are only revealed to the brave. In August 1997, two police officers disappeared in this place and their bodies were never found.

Almost a year after those terrified events, journalist Alan Parker decides to conduct his own investigation and find out what happened to the missing police officers. On his behalf, you will have to solve interesting puzzles, avoid traps, and come face to face with the terrible monsters that inhabit the place.

Will you have the courage to find out the scariest secrets of The Room 817 and survive?

GAME FEATURES

A true old-school horror experience. There are no maps, hints, or tutorials here. No one will hold your hand and tell you how to breathe. Remember what
it means to survive.

Gameplay that doesn't forgive mistakes. Death is awaiting around every corner. Watch where you step! Traps and bottomless pits abound!

One life, one try. This game isn't for those who like to save their progress every 10 seconds. There are no checkpoints or save points here. Either you survive or you die.

An atmosphere of primal terror. Explore the cursed apartment with your camera and flashlight. Uncover all the secrets of this place and find out what happened here.

Not for me. I appreciate the time that went into making this, and the story is interesting-- but my memory isn't great, so I struggled a lot with the lack of manual save or checkpoint feature. If you're determined and have a good memory, this game will likely be a lot of fun. But if you're somebody who had poor memory or has a condition where you suffer from memory loss, this is not very fun. Purchase on sale, if at all. <3

find items to solve puzzles to get keys to escape while avoiding friendo game, Insists its “difficult” as it “deliberately” has no map, save points or player aides. It was admittedly substantially annoying when we fell off a ledge or got trapped in a room by friendo after wed done 95% of the content and having to start at the beginning again. Overall it was good but the repeated grind time after time to finally finish the game with no variety at all in any item locations or puzzle solutions take off a mark

Room 817: Director's Cut is a survival horror title that confidently embraces the genre's old-school roots, delivering a tense and uncompromising experience that favors atmosphere, exploration, and player awareness over cinematic spectacle. Developed and published by Bormak Studio, the game centers on journalist Alan Parker as he investigates the disappearance of two police officers who entered the mysterious Room 817 in an apartment building on Lane Street back in 1997. What begins as a routine investigation gradually transforms into a terrifying journey through a location consumed by supernatural forces, where every discovery brings the protagonist closer to uncovering the truth behind the apartment's disturbing reputation. Rather than following modern horror conventions that constantly guide players toward objectives, the game deliberately places responsibility in the hands of the player. There are no generous checkpoints, objective markers, or overly helpful tutorials to rely on. Every room must be explored carefully, every clue examined with attention, and every puzzle solved through observation and logical thinking. This design philosophy creates a genuine sense of uncertain…

I'm not sure if I love this game or if I hate it... But I usually like to support solo-developers, so here's your positive review. That being said, I don't think that I will play this game ever again; and not because it is bad, but because it really doesn't have much replay value. It's a decent game to be fair.

An amazing hardcore game! And the letter from a developer was just awesome and motivating. Keep creating games, you for sure have a talent for that

Saw the game on the Kuplinov Play cahnnel and fell in love. This game is the real horror, finally, Thank you for this really terryfying experience. Tbh, horror games haven't scared me much since the first Outlast, and the most of the horrors are just walking simulators with a big load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ screamers, what has nothing in common with some real fear. In this game you're actually playing, not just walking and doing nothing but watching. The idea of not making checkpoints is wonderful and essential for the game, without it the game just wouldn't have worked. Great gamedesign. The feeling of exploring, remembering, adoptating, can't really express how wonderful this is. And also thanks for your secret note, really inspiring (can really understand your feelings and thoughts) and I hope to see some more of your games in the future. Here some thoughts on some of the game's aspects (hope you find something useful for your future projects). 1) In the note it's said that the detective got seriously injured due to getting in a mantrap. But the player has just been slightly damaged, 10 seconds recovered, I find it a little bit mercyful) In my opinion, if getting in a mantrap would give you…
