The game was released for the APPLE II Computer and that was just the Beginning. Over the YEars the Game was released for many Computers and Consoles. The Name of the Game: THE OREGON TRAIL. A Game about Managing a Treck on the way through the west, a Mix of RPG and Strategy. It inspired many other Games like THE YUKON TRAIL or WAGGON TRAIN 1848. You see it has a Long History. And here we are. Welcome to JOURNEY EXPRESS! JOURNEY EXPRESS is also inspired by THE OREGON TRAIL and shows Love and Respect for the Original. In the Beginning you can create your own Character and choose a Skillset, a Background, a Portrait and a Gender. After that choose a contract and begin your first Journey. There's definitely lots of room for improvement though the potential's there. Feels like a spiritual successor to Oregon Trail which I like; but I also feel like it's very rough and needs a LOT of work. Leaving a positive review for now as I'm interested to see what else is in store for this game. From my few minutes of gameplay, I spent around 10 minutes looking for my backpack trying to continue my trail (I lost track of where it was while exploring in the 1st person mode and got back to my trail with 40 crates of vegetables and fruits), travelled quickly into 3 consecutive cyclones (a feat that I once thought was only possible in the Pacific Ring of Fire) and a travelling salesman took pity on me and gave me 10% off on goods worth 135$ (it was more expensive than the previous travelling salesman who sold me goods worth 70$) Unforgiving like Oregon Trail, a little bit random, but in need of a some QOL improvements if that even applies to game like this.

Starting store & merchants is done as packs, randomized for the merchants, which when gone up against the randomized events leaves you with way too much of one item and always out of the one you need. One of the main agencies people normally have in an Oregon esque game is getting to pick and choose their supplies. Compass is straightforward enough but map could probably be a little more user friendly, took me a minute to figure out I was the dot on the right not the dot on the left, and I had already burned through 2-3 food uses plus 2 weevil food loss before actually getting anywhere. The 3D exploring is,,, just bad across the board, I actually got excited when I saw my first deer, took 4 shots to hit it trying to figure out elevation, somehow didnt scare it off, but when I did hit it and ran towards it I found out it was out of bounds and had wasted all the effort. There seems to be several "campsite" areas to leave 3D but 0 indication of the map edge until you've hit it. And thats when it actually works, tried exploring the desert and the game froze up. Until it does some patches I'd wait to buy this, it feels way too unpolished.

It has a lot of potential but in this state it also has a lot of bugs and is kinda unplayable for me. I will still give thumbs up and check from time to time in the hope of playing it one day. Please keep up the work! :)

This is a fun game great game that feels like organ trail and is very enjoyable. The crafting mechanic in the game is very clean and easy to learn. It can get a little difficult but it is still a lot of fun It can also get a little confusing finding stuff in you inventory but besides that and a few bugs that I have found I have been having fun with this game. 🐂👍
