Coloring Game: Girls

My goodness, this was boring, even as someone that's played other Coloring Games before. There's a mere handful of background songs, which I believe are the same ones for every other L. Stotch coloring game, and I ended up muting them for most of my playtime to instead listen to a podcast of my choice. My fingers and wrist feel sore from having to colour so many pixels, even with the "paint" mode active instead of the "brush", though perhaps it's also partially my fault due to playing nearly thirty hours of this in less than a week rather than pace myself. And the art that all that time was put into recreating...well, the hardest challenges did indeed have some nice results, and it's better than the AI slop other developers churn out, but the majority of these girls simply weren't my type, with their orange complexions and purple hair. I picked this up for roughly $9 CAD (including tax) in a half-off sale in 2026, but a quick bit of research shows that it still cost more than the full price of this game at its original launch. I have played most of L.Stotch's colouring games, as I enjoy the art style and the slow, methodical process of colouring by number - but this one has been a huge letdown. I don't have any issues with art that showcases women's nude bodies, there are many beautiful ways to do that, but all of this artwork feels very "male gaze". Women bending over, holding their legs in the air, wearing ridiculous costumes, all of them with perfectly proportioned bodies - this doesn't feel like art. I was surprised to see that there were WLW images too, but was then disappointed to see it being fetishized rather than anything actually meaningful. Not to mention the number of levels where the subject of the image looks young. Maybe it's just the art style on those particular images but it definitely made me uncomfortable. I knew from the store page that this game had sexual content, and I'm not a prude by any means. I love women, and I can appreciate the beauty of women and their bodies in general, but this game just feels icky to me. That being said, these games aren't cheap, so I probably will finish them.
