looK INside - Chapter 1

pretty simple game, the puzzles r fun, and i actually enjoyed figuring out what was going on not a long game, but a nice little experience if you like mystery/puzzle games

It pains me a bit to give KIN a negative rating, but I can't wholeheartedly recommend it. It's not bad per se, but the mechanics fall a bit short in polishing and preciseness. I have a feeling as if the artstyle was a bigger focal point than the puzzles. Therefore some puzzles are creative and fun, some are too easy, some almost incomprehensible. I also didn't understand the choice that, if you have discovered a certain amount of clues, you can just click a button to end the game and the solution (your main goal is to puzzle together a family tree) will self-correct itself in front of you. This gave me the feeling as if even the team itself knew that the puzzles and clues were not good enough to come to a fully correct solution. I did like the overall challenge to understand that [spoiler]the characters are viewed from different perspectives in different times[/spoiler], but I didn't quite understand the frame of it while playing, which led me to not give the correct family tree soultion in the end. Overall, if it's on sale and the artstyle really captivates you, it might still be worth a try. I have bought chapter 1 and 2 as a bundle and don't know when I will give chapter 2 a sho…

Played this once before and don't remember it having so many bugs. Replayed before playing Chapter 2 and I had to restart twice and couldn't finish the family tree because some options just disappeared. It's a sweet game, but pretty unplayable in its current condition. Not worth it even on sale.

This is how you do a cozy game right. It has everything you could ask for, a calm soundtrack, satisfying gameplay, a wholesome story with great bits of reflection upon life and a perfect, fitting art style. I loved it.

Got this game on sale but really want to like it. I love a chill finding things click around experience and the art looks beautiful. However, I only was able to play about 5 minutes of it before I found the sound effects intolerable. There is a thudding sound that happens with any "wrong" clicks or if you reach the end of a cycle, and it's VERY ANNOYING. It cannot even be muted without also losing the voice and music which I did like as part of the experience. I understand this is a very specific issue to me but I just found it so disappointing and inaccessible.

The sort of game I would normally enjoy, but I just didn't really connect with this or have fun with the gameplay
