Developed and published by David Czarnowski under the davidczar label, Clawfish is a delightful indie title that reimagines the concept of fishing through an inventive arcade-inspired premise. Instead of casting rods into rivers or lakes, players visit a quiet fishing arcade near a lonely train station where fish are captured using claw machines. This unusual blend of fishing, exploration, and crane-game mechanics gives the experience an identity that immediately separates it from traditional fishing simulators. Rather than emphasizing challenge or competition, the game focuses on providing a calm, cozy atmosphere where curiosity and relaxation take center stage. The core gameplay revolves around mastering three distinct claw machines, each introducing its own variation on the familiar crane-game formula. Success requires patience, timing, and careful positioning instead of luck alone, making every successful catch genuinely rewarding. Collecting all 23 unique fish species provides a satisfying progression system without overwhelming the player with unnecessary complexity. The gameplay loop remains simple throughout, but the variety between the machines helps maintain engagement w…1 found this helpful
Short and sweet game. Absolute vibe in every way. Left me wanting so much more and would love to see an update or even a dlc with other stations or more machines. Very relaxing game.
Pretty cool surreal little game! You gotta know what you're getting though; It's short. This is a 1-hour walking simulator with three 10m² islands to explore, one NPC that has about 10 lines, and a bunch of fish you can catch using UFO catchers. That's it. The main draw is the cool surrealist style that blends a Japanese urban aesthetic with water and fish. It's simple but nice. The BGM is very laid-back. It definitely would have potential to get fleshed out more to become a much more complete game, but this was a nice little snack nonetheless!
Fun fishing mini game :3
this is a really cute and cozy game. it takes about 20-30 mins to play and 100%
Kinda janky but it's very cute, feels warm and inviting. Short and sweet, which is reflected in the price. But the price of admission is justified by the novel concept and a relaxing, peppy atmosphere, along with a slight tinge of surreal mystery.
