Spark the Electric Jester 2

It has it's flaws, cutscene animations are pretty rough and the controls felt a bit overly complicated at first, but if you like 2000s era sonic games, fast paced platforming with cool movement tech and/or parry focused combat mechanics this one DELIVERS. Apparently it's their first 3D game, in some parts it really shows but in terms of controls, responsiveness and level design they absolutely crushed it. A bit short though, first story playthrough took me less than 3 hours. But if you like going for the time trial and high score bonus challenges it's definitely worth it. [spoiler]Also a silly thing is the game's story kinda baited me into thinking that[/spoiler] [spoiler]it's an option to kill or spare certain major enemies. It felt like the game was sorta written to comment on who I did or didn't kill but nope it's all scripted.[/spoiler] [spoiler]If the game had that with multiple endings it would've honestly been amazing and it would've played really well into how short it otherwise is.[/spoiler]

The first was classic sonic and this is dreamcast sonic, both i loved them. Although ♥♥♥♥ that final section of the last stage, if you tried the challenges and the time medal you know the one.

The music and level design are classic 3D Sonic. It commits a bit too hard to this, though, making the combat and non-speedy moments feel bland. It's shmeh, but when you're running on the twisted tracks and the camera moves, it does feel really cool for moments.

I'm amazed... Really fun. A must-have for Sonic fans. Similar gameplay.

Every Spark game, outclasses their Sega counterparts. Like Spark 1, Spark 2 just gives you the good ♥♥♥♥. It says, "Have all of the power-ups and have fun". Spark 3 gained variety but lost momentum with the overcomplicated controls and the upgrade system.
