About Outrider Mako
In Outrider Mako, explore the Mayoi World—a fantastical world where gods reside—find items requested by said gods, and deliver them in nicely wrapped packages in 2D top-down action gameplay.
Collect Seal Stamps to Return Home
Mako falls into the Mayoi World and finds herself at the Bumon Delivery Center, which a strange monster named Mozu claims is a package delivery service. Mako ends up becoming an outrider for the delivery center. She will need to collect seal stamps from the gods of the Mayoi World in the apprentice notes given to her by Mozu to fill it with spirit energy and return to her own world.Explore the World of the Gods and Deliver Their Packages
Mako is tasked with the job of collecting items requested by gods and delivering them in special packages. She will have to explore a mononoke-infested world to get items such as crystals, wrap them up nicely at a workbench, and then deliver them to her holy clients. But some items can only be obtained by defeating powerful enemies...Wield the Power of Red Nectar to Defeat Mononoke
All sorts of dangerous mononoke will interrupt Mako's work. Learn their attacks and jump to avoid them, then leap around to go on the offensive. Other than her trusty magic rod, Mako has all sorts of things that will help her in battles, such as red nectar, which can slow down enemies, as well as secondary weapons, elixirs, stakes, and more. Use them well to clear Mako's path and ensure a smooth delivery.Use Divine Blessing Talismans to Your Advantage
Mako can obtain Divine Blessing Talismans on the job. Equip them to gain all sorts of boons, such as enhancing the effects of red nectar or raising item drop rates.Challenge Powerful, Enraged Gods
Some of the packages are addressed to gods who have gone on a rampage for one reason or another. However, while the gods may be powerful, they're not invincible. Identify their weaknesses and fight them with all your might to quell their anger and, of course, give them their packages. What Steam players say
Outrider Mako? Pixel Deliveries, Goo Jumps, and God-Tier Errands!
"A boutique courier-action romp where gorgeous sprites, sticky red-nectar combat, and surprise shmup runs turn ‘one more delivery’ into ‘whoops, it’s 2 a.m.’"
[1] Intro :
You’re Mako, a myth-tinged courier who takes orders, gathers oddities, and hand-delivers packages to fussy gods. Expect a stage-based loop (not open world): three clear objectives per locale, returns to HQ, and occasional auto-scrolling shooter segments. Players praise the dazzling pixel art and satisfying “deliver → celebrate” cadence, while noting it asks for learning over brute force—arcade heart with modern comforts.
[2] Game Experience :
Each stage cycles collect → package → boss, with resource tension everywhere. Red nectar powers skills and healing, so stingy spending matters; sub-weapons found in arenas can carry a run, but mastering the “paint & pounce” core feels best. There’s even a cheeky ore market—grab rocks now, sell later. Delivery flights inject shmup spice and mid-run upgrade choices. Early on, nectar scarcity and RNG blessings can feel rough, yet patches (menu tweaks, boss-ret…17 found this helpful
It'd probably be a neutral review for me. The game is so full of charm and it's really pretty to look at with it's pixel art. It straight up reminds me of Spirited Away. It's very japanese and charming. The combat is really unique with it's jumping and splashing of ink, haven't seen that really in any other game, or at least implemented the way it is. But it can be a bit repetitive with it's mission structure and the simple objectives they ask you to complete. Most of the missions are just 'go to this place and get x number of this type of rock and turn it in.' The objectives/missions feel phoned in, especially compared to how well animated the game is. I think I got about half way through it and then didn't finish. It was fun while it lasted though.1 found this helpful
Good and cool little game that lacks a certain refinement in its level design. The excellent vibrant aesthetics and engaging gameplay mechanics carry the game.1 found this helpful
Good game, fun to explore the areas, combat is fine (saw a lot of negative reviews, idk if its worse on KBM, I played on controller), the visuals are amazing1 found this helpful
The game is really cute and fun, downside is the control in battle. It's pretty awkward and always ended up jumping on the rock for no reason. There's not enough UI or game design to indicate where to go or what's the next step. All the trap door seems completely random and good luck if you come back after a few days later, this game might expect you have a magnificent memory of the map. Still a nice game though. Hopefully will have improvement later on.1 found this helpful
It's not pocky and Rocky and it's not meant to be.Mission based ,great graphics and OST, and once you've got the combat down it's fun and not hard imho.
